1 Timothy 4:10 Savior of All Men

1 Timothy 4:9-10

9. Faithful (is) the Word and worthy of all acceptance;

10. for to this we also labor and (are) reproached, because we hope on (the) living God, who is Savior of all men especially (**particularly) (*That is) of believing ( Ones)

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no other One, for neither is (there) another name under Heaven having been given among men by which it is necessary (for) us to be saved.

What does “who is Savior of all men” mean?

It means God is the only savior of all men saved in the world. There is no other Savior of the world. It doesn’t mean all individuals without exception will be saved.

Based on the context in 2 chapters prior 1 Timothy 2:1-4 “ all men” would mean all sorts of men such as Kings and the (ones) in preeminence. The apostle Paul said

1. “First of all therefore, I exhort (that) petitions, prayers, supplications, (and) thanksgiving be made on behalf of all men

2 For Kings and all the being in preeminence, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

3 For this good and acceptable before God our Savior,

4 Who desires all men to be saved and to come to a full knowledge of the truth”

Comment

God is the Savior of “All Men” without distinction and not without exception since all individuals are not ultimately saved. Those saved are called out without distinction of nations, languages, tribes, or peoples. John 6:29 says “This is the work of God, that you believe into whom that one sent” (KJ3) literal translation

2 Corinthians 4:6

Because (it is) God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine” the (one) who shone in our hearts (His people He promised to save) to (give) (the) illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in face of Jesus Christ. Romans 9:16

John 3:36

The (one) believing into the Son has everlasting life; but the (one) disobeying (not believing into) the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Mark 16:16

The (one) believing and being baptized will be saved; but the (one) not believing will be condemned.

Acts 20:28

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you (as) overseers, to shepherd the assembly (called out ones) ( by God) of God which He purchased through (His) own blood.

He purchased with His blood the (called out ones) by God; The Bride of Christ, The people He promised to save in Matthew 1:21 Revelation 21:9 Revelation 19:7-9

Not everyone is married to Christ or will be married to Christ. Most are and were married to the whore, false religion, false gods, false christs, false spirits false teachers false prophets and other false gods who cannot save. They worshipped and served the creature more than the creator who is blessed forever. Romans 1:25 Luke 16:19-31 Revelation 20:15 Isaiah 45:10 Revelation 17 2 Corinthians 11:4 Galatians 1:6-9

John 6:37-44,65 – He saves those given by The Father and doesn’t lose any

John 6:29 – belief of (the Gospel) is the work of God

Matthew 16:16-18

He said to them, But you, whom do you say Me to be?

And answering, Simon Peter said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

And answering, Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal to you , but My Father in heaven

Comment– This revealing parallels Matthew 11:27 this verse shows the Son reveals the Father to whomever He chooses and in Matthew 16:16-18 The Father reveals the Son to whomever He chooses.

Then in Luke 11:13 “Then if you being evil know to give good gifts to your children, how much more the Father out of heaven will give the Holy Spirit to the (ones) asking Him” Then, In Matthew 7:11 the verse that parallels Luke 11:13 this verse says the Father gives “good things” to those that ask Him. Since only God is good then only those “good things” can come from the “Holy Spirit”

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Assembly ( called out ones) and ( the) gates of Hades will not prevail against her.

Romans 8:28

28 But we know that the loving God all things work together for good, the being called out according to purpose;

Comment

God is love 1 John 4:17-18 He that has the Holy Spirit ( Spirit of Christ) given to them can love; but he that has not the spirit of Christ is none of His and cannot love. Therefore, you must be generated from above by The Sovereign Will of God. “The Spirit breathes where it desires” John 3:8 “ So then to whom He wills He shows mercy; but to whom He wills, He hardens.” Romans 9:18 The ones that love God are those that have been generated from above because God foreknew (fore loved) predestinated, called, justified, and glorified His Children of Promise.

Who shall lay charge against God’s elect it is God who justifies? Romans 8:28-30-39 Romans 9:8

29 because whom He foreknew (fore loved), He also predestinated conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be first-begotten among many brothers.

30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Revelation 7:9

After these things I saw, and behold, a large multitude which no one was able to number them, out of every nation, even tribes and peoples and languages, standing in front of the throne, and before the Lamb, having been clothed with white robes, and in their hands palm branches. John 6:37-44,65

If God desired every individual to be saved, then, every individual would be saved because no one can resist His decretive will and God accomplishes all His desires Romans 9:19 Job 23:13 Isaiah 46:10

John 3:8

The Spirit breathes where He desires and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit See John 3:3,5,8

Once generated from above by The Sovereign Will of God to mercy whom He wills, you are able to see the kingdom of God and come to Jesus believing the Gospel that God promises to save His people chosen from before the foundation of the world conditioned solely on the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness alone without any effort or work from those for whom He died.

You will know you do not have a righteousness sufficient to please God and only in YHWH do you have righteousness and strength Isaiah 45:24 2 Corinthians 4:6 Romans 3 Romans 4 Ephesians 1 Ephesians 2 Ephesians 3 Romans 8 Romans 9 Romans 10 Romans 11 Luke 18:13 Isaiah 64:6

Romans 9 gives reasons why there are vessels fitted out (by God) for destruction. God wants to show His wrath and make His power known in order to show The riches of His glory on vessels of mercy prepared beforehand for glory.

Proverbs 16:4

Jehovah has made all for His purpose, yea, even the wicked (one) for the day of evil (things)

The Father chooses John 6:37 The Son redeems those The Father chooses Romans 3:24 The Holy Spirit generates from above those whom The Father chooses and The Son redeems John 3:3,5,8

His people are called The Children of Promise Roman’s 9:8

Romans 11:36 (KJV)

For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Revelation 4:11 (KJV)

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

** “Particularly” taken from Greek lexicon by Jay Green listed as an alternate word for Greek 3122 malista “especially”

* “ That is” according to George W. Knight 111 ordained Orthodox Presbyterian Minister should be rendered for G3122 Malista “especially”
