John 6:47

47 Truly, truly, I say to you, The one believing into Me has everlasting life.

John 3:36

36 The one believing into the Son has everlasting life; but the one disobeying ( not believing into) the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Comment

Believing into Jesus Christ is believing and trusting that salvation is conditioned on His atoning shed blood and His imputed righteousness alone. Salvation is a free gift of God unmerited and undeserving conditioned on Jesus Christ alone; received by God given faith. Ephesians 2:8-10, John 5:24, John 6:29, Romans 4:3-8, Romans 1:16-17, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, Ephesians 1:4,11, Romans 9:8,11, John 3:3,5,8, John 1:12-13, John 15:16

Romans 3:10-12

10 according as it has been written, “There is not a righteous one , not even one!”11 “There is not one understanding; there is not one seeking God.”12 All turned away, they became worthless together, not one isdoing goodness, not so much as one!” LXX-Psa. 13:1-3

John 8:44

24Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.

Exodus 3:14

And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM; and He said, You shall say this to the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

CommentJesus is the incarnate I AM in the New Testament. The YHWH revealed in the Old Testament – prior to becoming flesh

Being God, He is self existent. He being incarnate is fully God and fully Man.

In the Old Covenant Era, He is the pre- incarnate person of the triune God that appeared in the Old Covenant Era. In the New Covenant Era, He is the incarnate Son of God.

.. John 1:1-3,15,18 The unique one fully God and fully man without sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was in the beginning with God.3 All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

14 And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, glory as of an only begotten from the Father, full of grace and of truth.

John 1:18

18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, the (One) being into the bosom of the Father, that One declares Him ( KJ3)

Being – means in the Greek 1510- always existing or self existent- refer to Exodus 3:14

Being” into the bosom of the father means the person of the Son is also self existent, co- equal co- glorious having the same nature as the Father

John the Baptist even called Jesus the I AM in

Acts 13:25

And as John fulfilled the course, he said. Whom do you suppose me to be? Not I AM, but, behold, He comes after me, ( One) of whom I am not worthy to loose the sandal of ( His) feet” John 1:27 (King James 3)

John 5:16-17

16 And because of this, the Jews persecuted Jesus and lusted to kill Him, because He did these things on a sabbath.

17 But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work.

John 5:18

18 Because of this, therefore, the Jews lusted the more to kill Him, for not only did He break the sabbath, but also called God His own Father, making Himself equal to God.

John 8:44

44 You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. That one was a murderer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaksfrom his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it.

John 8:58-59

58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came to be, I AM!

59 Because of this, they took up stones that they might throw them on Him.

John 10:26

But you do not believe for ( because) you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.

John 5:39-40

39 You search the Scriptures, for you think in them you have everlasting life. And they are the ones witnessing concerning Me.40 And you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

Romans 10:1-4

1 Brothers, truly my heart’s pleasure and supplication to God on behalf of Israel is for it to be saved.2 For I testify to them that they have zeal to God, but not according to knowledge.3 For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.4 For Christ is the end of Law for righteousness to everyone that believes. They were ignorant of the fact that salvation is only conditioned on the work and person of Jesus Christ received by God given and worked faith.

Comment– The Apostle Paul was praying to God for the salvation of his kinsmen after the flesh. The Apostle Paul was once like them trying to establish his own righteousness to gain favor with God while being ignorant of the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ until God gave him the Holy Spirit unto belief of the Gospel. He too at that time was not submitting to the righteousness of God; knowing Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone that believes.

The Apostle Paul had much grief in his heart because he knew they weren’t saved and were relying on their own self righteous dead works for their salvation. Romans 9:1-3, Romans 7:5

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;9 not of works, that not anyone should boast;10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

Comment– Grace means unmerited, undeserving.

Faith has to be a gift of God conditioned on Christ alone; otherwise faith is a work and no flesh will be justified by the works of the Law or by their own works.

If you believe your faith is your work and not the work of God and a gift through Jesus Christ, You are still dead in your sins believing you make the difference between heaven and hell when it is the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness alone received by God given and worked faith alone.

John 6:29, Romans 3:10-12, 1 Corinthians 4;7, John 3:26-27

Romans 4:3-8

6 Even as also David says of the blessedness of the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:7 “Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;8blessed the man to whom the Lord will in no way charge sin.”

John 6:47, John 5:24, John 14:6, John 8:44 and Mark -16:16, John 10:26, John 3:3:5:8, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, John 6:44,65, John 6:37-39, John 10

You must be totally reliant on, believing and trusting in that salvation is conditioned on the the atoning shed blood 🩸 of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness alone;

Romans 3:20

20 Because by works of Law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through Law is full knowledge of sin.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6

3 But also if our gospel is being hidden, it has been hidden in those being lost,4 in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the brightness of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.5 For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus.6 Because it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine,” who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Comment

The difference between remaining ignorant and in darkness and having full knowledge is God who must reveal to the heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 11:27-30

25 Answering at that time, Jesus said, I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of earth, because You hid these things from the sophisticated and cunning and revealed them to babes.26 Yes, Father, for so it was pleasing before You.27 All things were yielded up to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and the one to whom the Son purposes to reveal Him .28Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, “and you will find rest to your souls.” Jer. 6:1630 For My yoke is easy, and My burden

Comment– Without the spirit of God dwelling in you, John 3:3,8 you cannot see the kingdom of God and come to Jesus Christ burdened down as a little child believing the Gospel.

You will not know the Triune God. That knowledge is everlasting life. You will not come as a little child burdened down until God reveals your helpless need for Him because He is perfectly holy and righteous and that you cannot please God without faith. You must be perfect or have a perfect substitute in your place; Jesus Christ.

John 17:1-3

It takes no real effort on the part of fallen angels to blind a natural man’s thoughts when he has not the spirit of God dwelling in him while he is perishing.

It is easy for them to cause the natural man to believe the lie that man can save himself from sinning against God. Natural man is dead to spiritual things.

Read God’s Word to discover the wiles of the devil.

Comment – That “ I AM” statement by Jesus was an acknowledgment that He is the eternal God the Son who became flesh; who is self existent and who created all things.

He was the person of the triune God that revealed himself to His people in the Old Testament.

The Pharisees knew that Jesus was claiming to be equal with God when He said before Abraham was I AM.

Jesus told the Pharisees you search the scriptures for everlasting life and yet you don’t believe into Me. He told them the scriptures speak of and witness to Him.

Why didn’t they believe into Him the only one that can save?

They didn’t know because they hadn’t received the illumination of the knowledge to the heart from God about who He was and that salvation was conditioned on Jesus Christ’s atoning shed blood 🩸 and His imputed righteousness alone; apart from works.

We do not know who God unconditionally reprobated from before creation. We can only judge according to whether or not they believe into Jesus or in other words believe the gospel that salvation is conditioned on Him alone.

The Pharisees were trying to establish their own righteousness to gain favor and salvation with God by their own dead spiritless works ;

They were ignorant of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

They did not know Him. They did not know the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ and did not submit to the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ by faith alone in the work of Jesus Christ alone;

John 6:37-39

37 All that the Father gives to Me shall come to Me, and the onecoming to Me I will in no way cast out.38 For I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.39And this is the will of the Father sending Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any of it, but shall raise it up in the last day.

Luke 18:13

13 And standing at a distance, the tax collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!

CommentThe Tax Collector knew his helpless condition and recognized his sin against a holy God. He changed his mind through God given repentance. Isaiah 64:6,

He was looking for mercy; knowing God will have mercy on whom He chooses to have mercy and will harden whom He chooses to harden Romans 9:8-24 Matthew 1:21-23, John 1:1-3,14,18

2 Corinthians 5:21

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 9:811-13

128 That is: Not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for a seed.9 For the Word of promise is this, “According to this time I will come, and a son will be to Sarah.” Gen. 18:1010 And not only so, but also Rebekah conceiving of one, our father Isaac,11 for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling,

it was said to her, “The greater shall serve the lesser;” Gen. 25:23

even as it has been written, “I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau.” Mal. 1:2, 3

Comment

All the Father gives to Jesus will come to this knowledge by God given and worked faith sometime between conception and death and show they have been saved from their sins; conditioned on the work and person of Jesus Christ alone because God promises to save His unconditionally chosen people from every nation, tribe, people and language conditioned on His atoning shed blood 🩸 and His imputed righteousness alone received by God given faith.

Proverbs 16:4

4 Jehovah has made all for His purpose, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Comment– The following verses in Romans 9 ( read the whole chapter) give us a reason for the wicked or vessels fitted out for destruction.

Romans 9:22-25

22 But if God, desiring to demonstrate His wrath, and to make His power known, endured in much long-suffering vessels of wrath having been fitted out for destruction,23and that ( in order that) He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before prepared for glory,24 whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also out of nations.

Revelation 4:11

Lord, You are worthy to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because You created all things, and through Your will they exist and were created.
