And the Word of Jehovah was to me, saying,
5 I knew you before I formed you in the belly, even before you came out of the womb, I consecrated you. I gave you to be a prophet to the nations.
6 And I said, Alas, Lord Jehovah! Behold, I do not know how to speak for I am a boy.
7 But Jehovah said to me, Do not say, I am a boy;for you shall go to all to that I shall send you. And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
8 Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am
with you to deliver you, a statement of Jehovah.
9 And Jehovah put out His hand and touched my mouth. And Jehovah said to me, Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
10 Behold, I have today appointed you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to tear down, and to destroy, and to cast down, to build, and to plant.
11 ¶ And the Word of Jehovah was to me, saying, Jeremiah, what do you see? And I said, I see an almond rod.
12 And Jehovah said to me, You have seen well; for I will watch over My Word to perform it.
And, brothers, I make known to you the gospel preached by me, that it is not according to man.
12 For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but by a revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 For you heard of my way of life when I was in Judaism, that with surpassing zeal I persecuted the Assembly of God and ravaged it.
14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age; in my race being much more a zealot of the ancestral traditions of my fathers.
15 But when God was pleased, He having separated me from my mother’s womb, and having called me through His grace, Isa. 49:1
16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the nations, immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood,
2 Thessalonians 2:13
¶ But we ought to thank God always concerning you, brothers, having been loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning to salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth
You have not chosen Me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and should bear fruit, and your fruit remain, that whatever you may ask the Father in My name, He may give you.
But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to the ones being called out ones according to purpose;
29 ¶ because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First- begotten among many brothers.
30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31 ¶ What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling,
even as He elected us in Him before the foundation of the world, for us to be holy and without blemish before Him in love,
in whom we also were chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His own will,
in whom also you, hearing the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also believing you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
for by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
not of works, that not anyone should boast;
for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.
being persuaded of this very thing, that the One having begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
¶ So, then, my beloved, even as you always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, cultivate your salvation with fear and trembling,
for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.
For You have possessed my inward parts; You wove me in the belly of my mother.
14 I will thank You, for I am awed, I am
set apart; Your works are marvelous and my soul knows it very well.
1 Corinthians 1:17-31
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ be nullified.
18 For the Word of the cross is foolishness to the ones perishing, but to us being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it has been written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will set aside the understanding of the understanding ones.” Isa. 29:14
20 Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Did God not make the wisdom of this world to be foolish?
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of preaching to save the ones believing.
22 And since Jews ask for a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom,
23 we, on the other hand, preach Christ crucified (truly a stumbling block to Jews, and a pitfall to Greeks),
24 but to them, the ones called, both to Jews and to Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;
25 because the foolish thing of God is wiser than men, and the weak thing of God is stronger than men.
26 For you see your calling, brothers, that there are not many wise ones according to flesh, not many powerful ones, not many wellborn ones.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world that the wise might be put to shame, and God chose the weak things of the world so that He might put to shame the strong things.
28 And God chose the low-born ones of the world, and the things beng despised, and the things not being, so that He might nullify the things being,
29 so that no flesh might glory in His pres- ence.
30 But of Him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, both righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
31 so that even as it has been written, “He that glories, let him glory in” the “Lord.” Jer. 9:24
