Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger! Yea, My fury is the staff in their hand.
6 I will send him against a godless nation, and on the people of My wrath. I will command him to plunder plunder, and to spoil spoil, and to appoint them a trampling like the mud of the streets.

For it was of Jehovah to harden their hearts, so that they should come against Israel in battle, so that they might be de- stroyed, so that they might have no favor, but that He might destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
Jeremiah 18:6
1 ¶ The Word which was to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,
2 Rise up and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words. (See Matthew 13:16)
3 And I went down to the potter’s house, and behold, he was working a work on the wheel.
4 And the vessel that he made in clay was ruined in the hand of the potter and turning back he made it another vessel, as it seemed good in the potter’s eyes to make it.
5 And the Word of Jehovah was to me, saying,
6 O house of Israel, am I not able to do to you as this potter? a statement of Jehovah. Behold, as the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.
7 The instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, or to break down, and to cause it to perish,
8 if that nation against whom I have spoken will turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to it.
9 And the instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
10 if it does evil in My eye, not to obey My voice, then I will repent of the good which I had said to do good to it.
Romans 9:15,16,18, 19-23
15 For He said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will pity whomever I pity.” Ex. 33:19
16 So, then, it is not of the one willing, nor of the one running, but of the One having mercy, of God.
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very thing I raised you up, so that I might show forth My power in you, and so that My name might be publicized in all the earth.” Ex. 9:16
18 So, then, to whom He wills, He shows mercy; but to whom He wills, He hardens.
19 You will then say to me, Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will?
20 Nay, rather, O man, who are you, the one answering back to God? Shall the thing formed say to the One forming it, Why did You make me like this? Isa. 29:16
21 Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, out of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and one to dishonor?
Jer. 18:6
22 But if God, desiring to display wrath, and to make His power known, endured in much long-suffering vessels of wrath having been fitted out for destruction,
23 and that He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before prepared for glory,
24 whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also out of nations.
Exodus 4:21
And Jehovah said to Moses, As you go to return to Egypt, see all the wonders which I have put in your hand, and do them before Pharaoh. And I will make strong his heart, and he will not send the people away.
1 Samuel 2:25
If a man sins against a man, then God shall judge him. But if a man sins against Jehovah, who shall pray for him? But they did not listen to the voice of their father because Jehovah desired to cause them to die
Matthew 11:27
27 All things were given over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and to whomever the Son purposes to reveal Him.
28 Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, “and you will find rest to your souls.” Jer. 6:16
30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
