It would be better for someone to be drowned; then, for that person to cause a little child who believes into Jesus Christ ( The Gospel of Jesus Christ) to be offended by their attempting to alter their faith in Jesus Christ and cause them to sin. In other words, to create a stumbling block, to trip over; something contrary to right thinking and right conduct.

In the hour the disciples came to Jesus saying, Who then is greater in the kingdom of Heaven?
Matthew 18:2 (KJ3)
And having called forward a little child Jesus set him in their midst
Matthew 18:3

Matthew 18:4
Therefore whoever will humble him-self as this little child, this (one) is greater in the kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 18:5
And whoever will receive one such little child in My name receives Me.
Matthew 18:6 (KJ3)
But whoever causes one of these little (ones ) believing in Me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a millstone turned by an ass be hung on his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea
Mark 9:42 (KJ3)
And whoever causes one of (these) little ones that believe into Me to stumble, it is good for him if rather a millstone be laid about his neck, and be thrown into the sea.

In Luke 18:13 -14 The Tax Collector presents a perfect example of someone converted and humbling themselves. The Tax Collector realized he had no righteousness of his own and only in YHWH did he have righteousness. Isaiah 45:24 Out of that knowledge that God shined into his heart, 2 Corinthians 4:6 The Tax Collector begged for mercy realizing that God would have mercy on whom He wills. Romans 9:18 Romans 9:15
A person that would cause to stumble (offend) a little child and or one that comes to Jesus as a little child believing into Him has a wicked (demonic) spirit working in them; and has yet to have God shine into their heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ 2 Corinthians 4:6 John 3,5,8 Ephesians 2:2
