Jesus is not the great ‘I AM’. Jesus is not God. Jesus never claimed to be God. He said, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone” Mark 10:18. There is one God as we are told in the Bible many times such as Isaiah 43:11, “I am God, only I am God and beside me there is no savior.” The 1st Commandment states, “I am the Lord your God,; You shall have no other…The 2nd Commandment forbids idolatry, be it an image, a cross, a false God, a statue, etc. Numbers 23: 11 tells us that no man can die for the sins of another. God repeatedly tells us in the Bible that salvation is of God through repentance. I could go on and on with verses that demonstrate that Jesus is not God. Read what Jesus actually said and not what others (Mathew, Mark, Luke, John) said about him and the religion the ‘church’ devised to maintain control. Jesus is the Messiah, meaning a messenger. He was a great teacher who was referred to as Rabbi. Jesus is a demonstration of how we are to live. The message of Jesus is that the kingdom of God, the Holy Spirit is within and cannot be found by seeking it outwardly.

Do you believe the 66 books of the Bible are God breathed as it says in

      2 Timothy 3:16

Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

The doctrine of God is given in the 66 books

The Bible teaches Jesus Christ has 2 natures God and Man. A man without sin. Most confusion and false doctrine starts with not accepting the scriptures teach He was both God and man. They use the scriptures that talk of Him being a man to prove He wasn’t God. That is an incomplete interpretation of letting scripture interpret itself.

        John 1:1-3,14,18

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.

All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, glory as of an only begotten from the Father, full of grace and of truth.

No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, being in the bosom of the Father, that One reveals Him . ( KJ3) Jay P Green literal translation 1993

You have everything needed to understand who He is simplified in these verses.

No one has seen God except the Son “being “ ( self existent) in the (self existent) bosom of the father has declared Him. That means the YHWH, The I AM that talked to Moses was the pre incarnate Son of God. That means the one that appeared in the Old Testament was the pre incarnate son of God; since no one has seen the God at anytime.

        “Being” Greek 1510

1510 eimí (the basic Greek verb which expresses being, i.e. “to be”) – am, is. 1510 (eimí), and its counterparts, (properly) convey “straight-forward” being (existence, i.e. without explicit limits).
1510 /eimí (is, am”) – in the present tense, indicative mood – can be time-inclusive (“omnitemporal,” like the Hebrew imperfect tense). Only the context indicates whether the present tense also has “timeless” implications.
For example, 1510 (eimí) is aptly used in Christ’s great “I am” (ego eimi … ) that also include His eternality (self-existent life) as our life, bread, light,” etc. See Jn 7:34, 8:58, etc.
Example: Jn 14:6: “I am (1510 /eimí) the way, the truth and the life.” Here 1510 (eimí) naturally accords with the fact Christ is eternal – maning “I am (was, will be).” The “I am formula (Gk egõ eimi)” harks back to God’s only name, “Yahweh” (OT/3068, “the lord”) – meaning “He who always was, is, and will be.” Compare Jn 8:58 with Ex 3:14. See also Rev 4:8 and 2962 /kýrios (“Lord”).

Acts 13:25- John The Baptist calls Jesus
        “ I AM”

        Acts 13:25
And as John fulfilled the course, he said, Whom do you suppose me to be? Not I AM, but, behold, He comes after me, (One) of whom I am not worthy to loose the sandal of ( His) feet ( KJ3 literal translation 2010 Jay P Green)

You referred to what was said “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone” Mark 10:18

Jesus was not telling the man that called Him “Good Teacher” that he wasn’t good. The man was trying to justify himself by the works of the Law. This man no way had a repentant heart like the tax collector in Luke 18:13.
Jesus knew that All the Father gives to Him to be saved ( John 6:37-39) will come knowing Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6) and His Gospel of salvation conditioned on His atoning shed blood and His imputed righteousness alone. They won’t come trying to justify themselves by their works to earn salvation. They come with a repentant heart ( Matthew 11:27-30) knowing the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ.

Jesus reveals the father to whomever He chooses. Matthew 11:27

If they do not know Jesus is perfectly good and God incarnate, they do not know the Father because Jesus would never reveal the father to anyone that doesn’t know Him.

You have no gospel and no salvation of anyone if Jesus is not perfectly good in thought, word and deed; plus it is a contradiction of scripture to say He isn’t good; since The Word was God became flesh. John 1:1-3,14,18 You would have to be saying God is not good which is another contradiction of scripture.

All Jesus was pointing out to the man (legalist) was if you are going to call me good, you should recognize who I AM. Exodus 3:14-15, Acts 13:25, John 8:24
