Matthew 11:26
Answering at that time, Jesus said, I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of Earth, because You hid these things from the sophisticated and cunning and revealed them to babes.
Who hid spiritual things? God did
See 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
Matthew 11:27-30
All things were yielded up to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills ( chooses) to reveal Him .
Comment– Who does the choosing or revealing ? God does. He doesn’t reveal Himself to everyone.
Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, “and you will find rest to your souls.” Jer. 6:16
For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
Comment– His people that receive the revelation of God come burdened down with their sin looking for rest in Jesus Christ’s work and person.
John 17:1-3
Jesus spoke these things and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You,
as You gave to Him authority over all flesh, so that to all which You gave to Him, He may give to them everlasting life.
And this is everlasting life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.
Comment – We see Jesus gives everlasting life to all the Father gives Him.
This giving of everlasting life is knowing the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
Who does the giving ? Who gives the knowledge or knowing? God does.
Everlasting life is knowing. Who shines into the heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ ?
God does
2 Corinthians 4:6
Because it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine,” who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Isa. 42:6, 7, 16
John 3:13
And no one has gone up into Heaven, except He having come down out of Heaven, the Son of Man who is in Heaven.
Comment– In the above verse, Jesus is revealing He is finite in the flesh and at the same time omnipresent as God.
Comment– If you do not know The True Jesus, you do not know the only True God and Jesus Christ the one He sent and you do not have everlasting life. John 17:3
Jesus is Fully God and Fully Man. He created all things that were created.
Nothing was created that wasn’t created by Him. He was in the beginning with God and was God before time and space and all creation. He is self existent like the Father and the Holy Spirit.
He appeared in a finite body and is also omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. God is Spirit John 4:24
John 1:1-3,14,18
He is the only Savior; saving all His promised people from their sin who are given to Him by the Father. Matthew 1:21-23 Romans 9:8
None of His people will be lost because He is sovereign over all things including the will of man.
Acts 2:46-47
And continuing steadfastly with one mind day by day in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food in gladness and simplicity of heart,
praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church those being saved from day to day.
Comment– The Lord added to the assembly. He caused more to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 4:10
for to this we also labor and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is deliverer of all men, especially of believers.
Comment– God is the savior of His people taken from All Men without distinction to nation, tribe, language or people; particularly, that is, believers.
All others will not be saved because they were fitted out vessels of wrath to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known to publicize His name in all the earth in order to show the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy prepared beforehand for glory. Romans 9
John 3:26-27
And they came to and said to him, Teacher, the one who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed, behold, this one baptizes, and all are coming to Him.
answered and said, A man is able to receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven.
John 1:12-13
But as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become children of God, to the ones believing into His name,
who were born not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God.
Comment– They received Him, the spirit of Christ, causing them to believe into His name, His authority and attributes, because they were born of God.
None seek the true God. They needed to be generated from above or born of God. The Spirit blows where it wills.
John 3:3,5,8 Romans 3:10-12
Comment– Once again, we see God is in control of all things and all people. Man has nothing to boast about since all is given; even faith and works. 1 Corinthians 4:7 Ephesians 2:8-10 John 6:29
Comment– In Matthew 11:27 we discover no one knows the Son except The Father and only those given by The Father know and come to The Son; knowing Jesus through the gift of the Holy Spirit. John 6:35-65 2 Corinthians 4:6, John 3:8
God grants repentance; a change of mind, causing His promised people to come to Jesus; looking for mercy because they are burdened down with their sin. Romans 9:15-18, Romans 9:8, Isaiah 64:6 Luke 18:13 Revelation 5:9 Revelation 7:9 Acts 20:28 Acts 13:48 Luke 18:19
2 Timothy 2:25 Matthew 1:21-23
We also discover in ( Matthew 11:27) that No one knows The Father unless The Son wills to reveal Him.
The Father knows the Son. The Father reveals the Son to whomever He chooses. The Son reveals The Father to whomever He chooses.
They come as little children burdened down with their sin against God. (Luke 18:13) ( Matthew 18:3)
Comment– Jesus said His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
This can only happen because salvation is a free gift to His people conditioned on Jesus Christ alone and through the gift and power of the Holy Spirit who works in His people lessening the load while leading by His yoke which is easy.
It is God who works the willing and the doing in His people for His good pleasure. Philippians 1:6,2:13
Mark 13: 20
And if the Lord had not shortened the days, not any flesh would be saved; but because of the elect whom He chose, He has shortened the days.
Comment– God chose, God shortened the days
Matthew 13:16
But your eyes are blessed because they see; and your ears because they hear.
Comment– Jesus was telling His disciples earlier that their eyes and ears were blessed and gifted to see and understand the things of God; but that understanding was not given to others.
He told the Pharisees below that they did not believe because they were not His sheep.
John 10:26
But you do not believe for you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.
Matthew 13:11
And answering, He said to them, Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but it has not been given to those.
Comment– Jesus tells the Pharisees they don’t believe because they are not His sheep.
Jesus lays down His life for His sheep and gives them eternal life. He only lays down His life voluntarily for His sheep.
Matthew 19:23-26
And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you that a rich man will with great difficulty enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to pass through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
And His disciples were exceedingly astonished when they heard this, saying, Who then can be saved?
But looking on them , Jesus said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Comment– We have confirmation in the above verses that God does not let man’s will interfere with His will. God accomplishes all His desires Job 23:13 Isaiah 46:10
John 6:65
And He said, Because of this, I have told you that no one is able to come to Me except it is given to him from My Father.
Philippians 1:29
because it was granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf,
Matthew 16:15
He said to them (His disciples), But you, whom do you say Me to be?
Matthew 16:16
And answering, Simon Peter said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Matthew 16:17
And answering, Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in Heaven.
Matthew 16:19
And I will give to you ( plural in Greek, meaning disciples) the keys of the kingdom of Heaven. And whatever you bind on earth shall occur, having been bound in Heaven. And whatever you may loose on the earth shall be, having been loosed in Heaven.
Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin.
Matthew 18:18
Truly I say to you, Whatever you bind on the earth shall occur, having been bound in Heaven. And whatever you loose on the earth shall be, having been loosed in Heaven.
Comment– Having been bound in heaven is past tense. What ever the disciples bind and loose has already been predetermined by God.
Comment– We see in the above 3 verses that God the Father reveals to His people who Jesus is. It is a sovereign act of God. John 3:8
All the disciples knew what Peter was revealed. All the disciples went out into the world delivering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
God the Father was using Peter to demonstrate the knowledge is given as an unconditional gift to His people who will be given to Jesus to be saved from their sins and raised up in the last day by Him.
Philippians 1:6, 2:13
being persuaded of this very thing, that the One having begun a good work in you will finish it until the day of Jesus Christ;
for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.
Comment– God does the work in is people
Romans 9:1–25
I tell the truth in Christ, I do not lie, my conscience bearing witness with me in the Holy Spirit,
that my grief is great, and a never ceasing pain is in my heart,
for I myself was wishing to be a curse from Christ on behalf of my brothers, my kinsmen according to flesh,
who are Israelites, whose are the adoption and the glory, and the covenants, and the Lawgiving, and the service, and the promises;
whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to flesh, He being God over all, blessed forever. Amen.
Not, however, that God’s word has failed. For not all those of Israel are Israel,
nor because they are Abraham’s seed are all children, but “In Isaac a Seed shall be called to you.” Gen. 21:12
That is: Not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for a seed.
For the word of promise is this, According to this time I will come, and a son will be to Sarah. Gen. 18:10
And not only so, but also Rebekah conceiving of one, our father Isaac,
for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling,
it was said to her, “The greater shall serve the lesser;” Gen. 25:23
even as it has been written, “I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau.” Mal. 1:2, 3
What then shall we say? Is there not unrighteousness with God? Let it not be!
For He said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will pity whomever I will pity.” Ex. 33:19
So, then, it is not of the one willing, nor of the one running, but of the One showing mercy, of God.
For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very thing I raised you up, so that I might show forth My power in you, and so that My name might be publicized in all the earth.” Ex. 9:16
So, then, to whom He desires, He shows mercy. And to whom He desires, He hardens.
You will then say to me, Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will?
Yes, rather, O man, who are you answering against God? Shall the thing formed say to the One forming it , Why did You make me like this? Isa. 29:16
Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, out of the one lump to make one vessel to honor, and one to dishonor? Jer. 18:6
But if God, desiring to show forth wrath, and to make His power known, endured in much long-suffering vessels of wrath having been fitted out for destruction
and that He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before prepared for glory,
whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also out of nations.
As also He says in Hosea, I will call those not My people, My people! And those not beloved, Beloved! Hosea 2:23
And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people, there they will be called, Sons of the living God.” LXX-Hos. 2:1; MT-Hos. 2:23
John 8:34-36
But the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever.
Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.
The Father, The Son, The Spirit are in perfect harmony being One God, three persons. All coequal, coglorious. Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent
The Spirit regenerates those given by The Father to Jesus and Jesus redeems and raises up in the last day those given by the Father and The Spirit regenerates those given by the Father and redeemed by The Son unto belief of the gospel that salvation is conditioned on Jesus Christ alone received by God given and worked faith John 6:29, ( John 3:8) ( Romans 3)
We know from (John 6:37-39) that no one comes knowing the true Jesus unless the Father gives them to Jesus to be saved and raised up in the last day. Those given will all learn of Him. John 6:45
We know Jesus will not choose to reveal The Father to anyone that doesn’t know Him because only those given and drawn to Jesus by The Father will know Him. John 6:44,45,65
John 14:7
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you do know Him, and have seen Him
Comment– The disciples knew Jesus. So, Jesus revealed the Father.
Luke 8:10
And He said, To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables, that seeing they might not see, and hearing, they might not understand. Isa. 6:9
John 14:9
Jesus said to him, Am I so long a time with you, and you have not known Me, Philip? The one seeing Me has seen the Father! And how do you say, Show us the Father?
Consequently, no false doctrine or false religion or false spirit knows God unless Jesus reveals Him ( The Father) and Jesus won’t reveal God The Father unless they know Him.
In (2 Corinthians 4:6) The Father shines into the heart of His promised people the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. These are the same people that Jesus reveals the Father to.
So, it is impossible to know God and come to God unless you go through the true Jesus Christ and know both The Father and The Son through The Spirit who blows where it wills.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me
The ones that are laboring and burdened down are the ones given to Jesus by the Father. They will know Him by being given a change of mind through the Spirit toward God burdened down understanding they have no righteousness of their own and that salvation is solely conditioned on the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness alone received by God given faith.
Below are examples of God granting repentance, a change of mind, to His people unconditionally chosen from every nation, tribe, language and people giving them understanding of their sins against a Holy and righteous God
God shines into the heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. His people will come to the knowledge that He is totally sovereign over all His creation; having mercy on some, while hardening others based on His sovereign purpose according to the counsel of His will all to His glory and the benefit of His unconditional elect.
God promises to save His people from their sins conditioned solely on the atoning shed blood and imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ alone without work or effort from those for whom He represented in His death, perfect life lived and resurrected.
He bought and paid for His people with His blood. They cannot be lost. He works the willing and the doing in them for His good pleasure according to the counsel of His will. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. All His people will come to the knowledge of the truth sometime between conception and death that salvation is conditioned on the work and person of Jesus Christ alone received by God worked and given faith.

If You will keep iniquities, O Jehovah, O Lord, who shall stand?
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
