John 17:3

And this is everlasting life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the One whom You sent.

2 Corinthians 4:6

Because it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine,” the One who shone in our hearts to give the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Isa. 42:6, 7, 16

Comment

Eternal life or Everlasting Life is knowing. You do not have everlasting life if you do not know The only true God and the whom He sent, Jesus Christ. You have to know what it means to know both The True God and Jesus Christ because it determines if you have everlasting life.

Scripture tells us who the True God is and Jesus Christ and that it is God who shines into the heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6, John 3:3,5,8, Matthew 13:11

God is in complete control of all thoughts and actions according to the counsel of His will; according to purpose. Proverbs 21:1, Isaiah 55:11

Comment – God reveals Himself to whom He chooses and when He chooses according to the counsel of His will and purpose. John 15:16, John 6:37-39

The rulers of this world didn’t know who Jesus Christ was, otherwise, if they would have known, they would not have crucified Him. 1 Corinthians 2:8

Comment– God chose not to reveal Jesus Christ and the fact He was God the Son incarnate to the rulers of this world; so they would crucify Him for the benefit of His elect and for His glory.

His elect were chosen unconditionally from before the foundation of the world and through the cross He is showing His elect what He has done for them. Romans 8:28-30, Romans 9:15-24

God must shine into your heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ 2 Corinthians 4:6

John 14:6

Jesus says to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father if not through Me.

Comment– No one knows the Father unless they know the Son and believe that salvation is by Grace ( unmerited, undeserving) alone through God given faith alone conditioned on the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed perfect righteousness alone. If you do not know Jesus Christ, you will never know the Father.

Salvation is based solely on Christ’s work and person without any contribution or effort from the people He represented.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ, you don’t know the Father and you will never get to the Father because the Son is the one that reveals the Father to whomever He chooses.

Do you think Jesus will reveal the Father to those that do not know Him? No, He won’t because He only reveals the Father to whom the Father gives to Him that know Him because it is God who shines into their hearts the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The “Jehovah’s Witnesses” do not know Jesus Christ and believe His Gospel that salvation is to His promised people conditioned solely on His work and person alone without contribution from those He represented.

It is a Gospel received by God given and worked faith by Him alone ; therefore, they do not know the Father.

Matthew 11:27, Mark 16:16, Ephesians 2:8-10, Matthew 7:23, Romans 3, Romans 4:3-8, John 6:35-65, John 6:29, Acts 20:28, Revelation 5:9, Matthew 1:21-23

John 8:19

Then they said to Him, Where is Your father? Jesus answered, You neither know Me, nor My Father. If you had known Me, then you also would have known My Father.

Luke 5:21

And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?

Comment– Only God forgives sin. So, we have another scripture demonstrating Jesus Christ is the YHWH became flesh.

There is no such thing as “a god”. You are either the self existent God or you aren’t a god at all. God said He will not share His glory with anyone. Isaiah 42:8

Therefore, Jesus is YHWH, The Son, since Jesus said in

John 17:5

And now Father, glorify Me with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the existence of the world.

It just so happens Jesus is the self existent God the Son YHWH who became flesh.

The following verse John 3:13 proves while Jesus was standing on earth as a finite being, He was also omnipresent as God. Genesis 19:24, Revelation 1:7-8, Revelation 22:13, Revelation 1:17-18, John 8:58

John 3:13

And no one has gone up into Heaven, except He having come down out of Heaven, the Son of Man who is in Heaven. Psalm 139:8, John 1:1-3,14,18

John 8:31-32

Then Jesus said to the Jews having believed into Him, If you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples.

32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

John 8:36

Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed

John 14:6

Jesus says to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father if not through Me.

Comment– Don’t ignore God’s word like they did in the Garden of Eden. Thy Word is Truth John 17:17, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:15-16

Colossians 2:9

For in Him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

Comment

This fullness of the Godhead is confirmed in John 1:1-3,14,18… The True God tabernacled with us becoming flesh for a sacrificial moment in time.

Jesus Christ is the true God/Man.

In beginning was The Word and The Word was with God and The Word was God; who created everything that was created and not self existent, He became flesh (God/Man).

Therefore, He is both The True God and man; Jesus Christ. He is the eternal creator who created everything that was created.

He, being in the eternal bosom of the Father, confirmed He also is eternal, declared God to finite man as the substitutionary sacrificial lamb for His people.

John 5:23

so that all may honor the Son, even (to the extent of that you honor the Father) ( Greek 2531) as they honor the Father. The one not honoring the Son does not honor the Father who has sent Him.

Comment– The person that doesn’t honor the Son to the same degree as the Father, does not honor the Father or know Him

His people will all come to repentance realizing they have no righteousness of their own. His people are every believing one that has God worked and given faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

They were given by the Father to Jesus Christ and unconditionally chosen from before the foundation of the world to be saved by Jesus and raised up in the last day. Ephesians 1:4-11, 2 Thessalonians 2:13

They received God given faith that salvation is conditioned on Jesus Christ’s atoning shed blood and His imputed righteousness alone without any effort or work from those He represented. Isaiah 64:6, Luke 18:13, Revelation 5:9, 2 Corinthians 4:6, John 3:3,5,8, Romans 3:10-12, 2 Timothy 2:25, John 6:29

The God Spirit walked among us.

The metaphor of the Son of God being in the bosom of the Father explains the account of the infinite God Spirit taking on flesh to relate to finite man.

Man cannot relate to an infinite God that is Spirit John 4:24 because man is finite. The word “ being” notes self existence and is the same Greek referenced word as in Exodus 3:14 noting I AM that I AM

He emptied himself becoming a slave taking on flesh; although equal with God. Philippians 2:7-8, John 17:5

As the God/Man, He had to satisfy God’s justice by substituting for His people as a man, fulfilling the Law and doing the Will of the father.

He paid for the sins of His people, through His atoning shed blood and His imputed perfect righteousness alone charged to His unconditionally chosen people’s account that He promised to save whom are all the Father gave Him to save and raise up in the last day. John 6:35-65, Revelation 5:9

His faithfulness, as the God/Man, propitiated the anger of God against His people because of their sin; providing justification for His people, so He could declare them righteous; based on His work alone which is received by God given faith in this Gospel of unmerited favor that is conditioned on the work and person of Jesus Christ alone.

He redeemed them and reconciled them back into favor with God; which satisfied the justice of God, making God a just God and a savior. Romans 3, Isaiah 45:21, Isaiah 43:11

He provided the gift of salvation by Grace alone without any effort or work from His people He came to save. Ephesians 2:8-10, John 10:11,15,26, Revelation 20:15

Comment

In the beginning was The Word and The Word was with God and The Word was God.

He said He was The Alpha and Omega, The beginning and the end, The First and The Last, He became dead and is alive forever and forever. The Almighty God. Revelation 1:7-8, 22:13, 1:17-18 John 1:1-3,14,18

God regenerates His people through his spirit; giving a new heart toward the true God, delivering the gift of faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the heart. They are able to acknowledge their unrighteousness as a filthy menstrual cloth, asking for mercy being burdened down with their sin, knowing salvation is solely conditioned on Christ’s work and His imputed righteousness alone by His Grace alone. John 3:3-8, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Ezekiel 36:26

So, there is no question about it…. to know the True God and Jesus Christ is to know that Jesus is YHWH, The I AM became flesh. He is YHWH; the only Savior.

He is the only pre incarnate YHWH and incarnate YHWH that has been declared to man. Isaiah 43:11, Genesis 19:24, John 8:24

Acts 13:25

And as John fulfilled the course, he said, Whom do you suppose me to be? Not I AM , but, behold, “He comes after me, of whom I am not worthy to loosen the sandal of His feet.” John 1:27

Comment– John the Baptist is noting that Jesus is the I AM (YHWH) in Exodus 3:14

John 4:24

God (is)spirit, and the (ones) worshipping Him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 8:24

Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.

Comment– So, we definitely see now that the Jehovah’s witnesses are like the Pharisees in that they didn’t know Jesus was the I AM ( YHWH) in Exodus 3:14– They didn’t know the True God and The whom He sent.

God sovereignly has to reveal this knowledge through regeneration of your dead spirit giving a new heart to whomever the Father gives to Jesus.

John 3:3-8, Matthew 16:16-17, Matthew 11:27, Matthew 13:16, John 6:37-44

The Israelites were lacking this knowledge in Romans 10:1-4 because they were seeking to establish their own righteousness Isaiah 64:6 and did not submit to and know the righteousness of God; consequently, The Apostle Paul was praying to God for their salvation because he had a desire for them to come to the knowledge of the truth and The apostle Paul knew that God was in control of saving knowledge that Jesus Christ is the Word was God and with God, prior to the beginning of creation, who became flesh and that salvation is by Grace alone through the gift of faith alone and not of works so no man can boast. Salvation is totally a free gift of God to His people unconditionally chosen from before the foundation of the world. For the end of the law is Christ for righteousness to everyone that believes. Romans 10:1-4, Ephesians 2:8-10, John 6:65, John 1:1-3,14,18, Isaiah 46:10, Romans 9:11, Proverbs 21:1

Repentance looks like this

Luke 18:9-14

And He also spoke this parable to some of those relying on themselves, that they are righteous, and despising the rest:

Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector.

The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I get.

And standing at a distance, the tax collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!

I say to you, this one went down to his house having been justified, rather than that one. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled. And the one humbling himself will be exalted.

The Gospel

God promises to save His people Matthew 1:21 conditioned solely on Jesus Christ’s atoning blood and His imputed righteousness and He will lose none that the Father has given Him. Romans 3:24-27 Romans 4:3-8, John 6:37-44

His atoning shed blood and imputed righteousness ensured all of salvation beginning with regeneration of the heart through the spirit through to final glorification when He raises His unconditionally chosen people from before the foundation of the world based on His work alone without any effort from the sinner. John 3:3-8, John 6:37-44, Romans 9:11, 9:16, 1 Corinthians 15:40-57, Ephesians 1:4

Salvation is based on Christ’s work alone without any effort or work from His people he came to save and represent. Ephesians 2:8-10

Salvation is of the Lord to His glory alone. Jonah 2:9 Isaiah 48:11 Jesus Christ’s faithfulness through His shed blood provided payment for sin and provided an imputed perfect righteousness in thought, word and deed for His people that he represented.

His people can’t provide a righteousness to satisfy God’s justice, holiness and righteousness.

He was able to provide propitiation, justification, redemption and reconciliation for His people to God. This is the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:22-27, Romans 1:16-17, Romans 4:3-8, Romans 10:1-4

Comment

God (is) Spirit; using infinite as an adjective, we can conceptualize that The God Spirit is everywhere. You can only worship God in Spirit and Truth through Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth, and The Life and no one comes to the Father except by Him. He is the only mediator between God and man.

1 Timothy 2:5

John 1:1-3,14,18

The scriptures say the Word that was God and with God created everything that was created and then The Word became flesh. He being in the infinite eternal bosom of the Father (YHWH) makes Him infinite and eternal; the one that became flesh; both God and Man. If you are eternal, you are God and YHWH.

This is knowing the True God and Jesus Christ. The True God became flesh. Jehovah (YHWH) became flesh. Knowing Jesus Christ is knowing He is YHWH who became flesh. You must have eternal life in order to know this. John 5:24 You must know that the eternal God became flesh to substitute for His people shedding His blood for the payment of His people’s sins and that He imputes His righteousness to His people He promised to save. Matthew 1:21

We see further proof below that the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ was YHWH (Jehovah) in the Old Covenant era that was seen and heard and the YHWH who became flesh in the New Covenant Era

John 1:18

No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, the One being into the bosom of the Father, that One declared Him. Please note: It is the Father that has not been seen at anytime.

Comment

The only YHWH (Jehovah ) that has been seen is The Son of God; pre incarnate in the old covenant era and incarnate in the New Covenant Era.

There are a number of verses in the Old Covenant Era where Jehovah (YHWH) appeared. Since only the Father has not been seen and The Son is the only one that declared Him, then that leaves, only the Son of God, as the one who appeared, and put God on display in pre incarnate form in the old covenant era and in the incarnate form becoming flesh in the new covenant era

Please refer to the attached blog post for more scripture supporting The Son of God and the Father as both being Jehovah (YHWH)

Jehovah, The I AM, Jesus

Genesis 19:24

And Jehovah (YHWH) (Hebrew) (Standing on the earth) rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from Jehovah (YHWH) out of the heavens.

Anyone that does not believe that Jesus is the Word was God ( Self Existent) became flesh and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ has not yet received the shining into the heart by God of the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

His being the eternal God the Son became flesh is an essential part of the Gospel of Christ and those that don’t believe the Gospel of Grace alone conditioned on Christ alone apart from works, remain lost and have not yet passed from death to life. Mark 16:16 John 5:24 2 Corinthians 4:6 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 John 6:37-44
