Revelation 4:11
11 Lord, You are worthy to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because You created all things, and through Your will they exist and were created.
Romans 11:36
36 Because of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.
Colossians 1:15-29
15 who is the image of the invisible God, the First-born of all creation.
16 For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible; whether thrones, or lordships, or rulers, or authorities, all things have been created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and all things have subsisted in Him.
18 And He is the Head of the body, the assembly, who is the Beginning, the First-born out of the dead, that He be preeminent in all things;
19 because all the fullness was pleased to dwell in Him,
20 and through Him making peace by the blood of His cross, to reconcile all things to Himself; through Him, whether the things on the earth, or the things in the heavens.
21 And you then being alienated and hostile in your mind by evil works, but now He reconciled
22 in the body of His flesh, through death, to present you holy and without blemish and irreproachable before Him,
23 if indeed you continue in the faith grounded and settled and not being moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard proclaimed in all the creation under Heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister,
24 who now rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf and fill up in my flesh the things lacking of the afflictions of Christ on behalf of His body, which is the assembly,
25 of which I became a minister, according to the administration of God given to me for you, to fulfill the Word of God,
26 the mystery having been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but now was revealed to His saints;
27to whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory;
28 whom we announce, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man full-grown in Christ Jesus,
29 for which also I labor, struggling according to the working of Him who works in me in power.
Proverbs 16:4
Jehovah has made all for His purpose, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
1 Corinthian 6:9-11
9 Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And some of you were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
Ephesians 1:4-23
4 even as He elected us in Him before the foundation of the world, for us to be holy and without blemish before Him in love,
5 predestinating us to adoption through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace in which He favored us in the One having been loved,
7 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the remission of deviations, according to the riches of His grace
8 which He caused to abound toward us in all wisdom and understanding,
9 making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
10 for the administration of the fullness of the times to head up all things in Christ, both the things in the heavens, and the things on earth, in Him,
11 in whom we also have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His own will,
12 for us to be to the praise of His glory, the ones who had previously trusted in Christ;
13 in whom also you, hearing the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also believing you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 who is an earnest of our inheritance, to the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
15 Because of this, hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus and love toward all the saints,
16 I also do not cease giving thanks on your behalf, making mention of you in my prayers,
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him,
18 the eyes of your mind having been enlightened, for you to know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us, the ones believing according to the working of His mighty strength
20 which He worked in Christ in raising Him from the dead; yea, He seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, Psa. 110:1
21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and lordship, and every name having been named, not only in this age, but also in the coming age ;
22 and He “put all things under His feet” and gave Him to be Head over all things to the assembly, Psa. 8:6
23 which is His body: the fullness of the One filling all things in all;
John 6:36-39
36 But I said to you that you also have seen Me and did not believe.
37 All that the Father gives to Me shall come to Me, and the one coming to Me I will in no way cast out.
38 For I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
39 And this is the will of the Father sending Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any of it, but shall raise it up in the last day.
Comment – Jesus always does the will of the Father. All that the Father gives to Jesus will come to Him and be saved. They will come to the knowledge of the truth, sometime between conception and death, believing salvation from sin is conditioned solely on the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness alone without effort or work from those He represented; received by faith which is a gift and work of God . Acts 20:28, John 6:29, Ephesians 2:8-10, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Luke 1:41, Luke 23:42, Romans 4:3-8 Hebrews 9:23, Romans 3:9-33
Comment
His promised people are taken from every nation, tribe, language and people. They will know their righteousness is nothing more than a filthy menstrual cloth and will ask for mercy conditioned on the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness alone.
They will know only God is good and only through receiving the Holy Spirit unto belief of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the gift of faith can they do anything pleasing to God. Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as thyself. Matthew 22:37-39
Luke 18:19, Hebrews 11:6
Isaiah 64:6, Luke 18:13, Revelation 5:9, Matthew 1:21-23, Acts 20:28
Matthew 1:21
21 And she will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.
Comment– Jesus promises to save His people taken from every nation, tribe, language and people and God always fulfills His promises. Revelation 5:9,7:9
Romans 9:8-13
8 That is: Not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for a seed.
9 For the Word of promise is this, “According to this time I will come, and a son will be to Sarah.” Gen. 18:10
10 And not only so, but also Rebekah conceiving of one, our father Isaac,
11 for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling,
12 it was said to her, “The greater shall serve the lesser;” Gen. 25:23
13 even as it has been written, “I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau.” Mal. 1:2, 3
Matthew 16:16-18
16 And answering, Simon Peter said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And answering, Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in Heaven.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against her.
Comment– Jesus will build His assembly of people upon the Rock that came out of Peter’s mouth which is that Jesus is the Christ The Son of the living God which inherently includes His substitutional work and person securing the salvation of the people He promised to save that The Father gave Him; who would be dragged or drawn to Jesus; who will be generated from above with a new spirit becoming a new creation in Christ Jesus unto belief of the Gospel unto salvation.
Jesus is referred to several times in scripture as a Rock metaphorically. Psalm 62:6, John 6:44,65
John 6:43-45
43 Then Jesus answered and said to them, Do not murmur with one another.
44 No one is able to come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.
45 It has been written in the Prophets, They “shall” all “be taught of God.” So then everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to Me; Isa. 54:13
Romans 8:28-39
28 But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to those being called according to purpose;
29 because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up on behalf of us all, how will He not freely give all things to us with Him?
33 Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? God is the One justifying!
34 Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also is raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession on our behalf.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
36 Even as it has been written, “For Your sake we are killed all the day; we are counted as sheep of slaughter.” Psa. 44:22
37 But in all these things we more than conquer through Him loving us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
1 Peter 1:18-23
18 knowing that not with corruptible things, silver or gold, were you redeemed from your worthless way of life handed down from your fathers,
19 but with precious blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without spot,
20 indeed having been foreknown before the foundation of the world, but revealed in the last times because of you,
21 the ones believing in God through Him, He raising Him from the dead, and giving glory to Him so that your faith and hope may be in God.
22Having purified your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unpretended brotherly love, love one another fervently out of a pure heart,
23 being regenerated, not by corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and remaining forever.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
9 not of works, that not anyone should boast;
10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.
Philippians 1:6,29,2:13
6 being persuaded of this very thing, that the One having begun a good work in you will finish it until the day of Jesus Christ;
29 because it was granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf,
13 for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.
Romans 3:10-12
10 according as it has been written, “There is not a righteous one , not even one!”
11 “There is not one understanding; there is not one seeking God.”
12 All turned away, they became worthless together, not one is doing goodness, not so much as one!” LXX-Psa. 13:1-3
Romans 3:13-31
13 “Their throat is a tomb being opened;” “they used deceit with their tongues; the poison of asps is under their lips;
14whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 ruin and misery are in their way;
17and they did not know a way of peace;
18 there is no fear of God before their eyes.” LXX-Psa. 5:10; 139:4; 9:28; Isa. 59:7, 8; Psa. 35:2; MT-Psa. 14:1-3; 5:9; 140:3; 10:7; Isa. 59:7, 8; Psa. 36:1
19 But we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those within the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God.
20 Because by works of Law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through Law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2
21 But now a righteousness of God has been revealed apart from Law, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22 even the righteousness of God through faith of Jesus Christ toward all and upon all those believing; for there is no difference,
23 for all sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus,
25 whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood, as a demonstration of His righteousness through the passing over of the sins that had taken place before, in the forbearance of God,
26 for a demonstration of His righteousness in the present time, for His being just and justifying the one that is of the faith of Jesus.
27 Then where is the boasting? It was excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through a Law of faith.
28 Then we conclude a man to be justified by faith without works of Law.
29 Or is He the God of Jews only, and not also of the nations? Yes, of the nations also,
30 since it is one God who will justify circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Then is the Law annulled through faith? Let it not be! But we establish Law.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And some of you were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
Isaiah 44:9-18
9 Those who form a carved image are all of them vanity. And their delights do not profit; and they are their own witnesses. They do not see, nor know, that they may be ashamed.
10 Who has formed a god, or poured out an image to no profit?
11 Behold, all his companions shall be ashamed; and the craftsmen, they are from men. They shall assemble, all of them shall stand; they shall dread; they shall be shamed together.
12 He carves iron with a tool; he works in the coals and forms it with hammers, and works it with his powerful arm; then he is hungry, and has no strength; he drinks no water and is weary.
13 He fashions wood, and stretches a line; he marks it with a stylus; he shapes it with a carving tool, and he marks it with a compass. And he makes it according to the figure of a man, as the beauty of a man, to sit in the house.
14He cuts down cedars and takes cypress and oak, and he makes the trees of the forest strong for him. He plants a tree, and rain makes it grow.
15 And it shall be for a man to burn; yea, he takes of them and is warmed; and he kindles it and bakes bread. Yea, he makes a god and worships; he makes a carved image and bows to it.
16 He burns half of it in the fire; he eats flesh on half of it; he roasts roast, and is satisfied. Then he warms himself and says, Ah, I am warm; I have seen the fire.
17 And he makes a god of the rest, his carved image; he bows to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, Deliver me, for you are my god.
18 They do not know nor discern; for He has smeared their eyes from seeing, their hearts from understanding
Ecclesiastes 1:14
14 I have seen all the works which are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and striving after wind! 😂
Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please God . For it is right that the one drawing near to God should believe that He is, and that He becomes a rewarder to the ones seeking Him out.
Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
9 not of works, that not anyone should boast;
10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.
Romans 10:17
17 Then faith is of hearing, and hearing through the Word of God.
John 6:29
29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe into Him whom that One sent.
1 Corinthians 1:18
18 For the Word of the cross is foolishness to those being lost, but to us being saved, it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:14-15
14 But a natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them , because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But the spiritual one discerns all things, but he is discerned by no one.
1 John 2:14-17
14 Fathers, I have written to you because you have known Him from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil.
15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
16 because all that which is in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world is passing away, and its lust. But the one doing the will of God abides forever.
John 10:26
26 But you do not believe for ( because) you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.2
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
3 But also if our gospel is being hidden, it has been hidden in those being lost,
4 in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the brightness of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.
Romans 10:1-4
1 Brothers, truly my heart’s pleasure and supplication to God on behalf of Israel is for it to be saved.
2 For I testify to them that they have zeal to God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of Law for righteousness to everyone that believes.
John 3:3-8
3 Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus said to Him, How is a man able to be generated, being old? He is not able to enter into his mother’s womb a second time and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated out of water and Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That having been generated out of the flesh is flesh, and that having been generated out of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Do not wonder because I said to you, You must be generated from above.
8 The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 4:6
6 Because it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine,” who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Isa. 42:6, 7, 16
John 10:27-30
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 And I give eternal life to them, and they shall not perish to the age, never! And not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand.
29 My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck out of My Father’s hand.
30 I and the Father are One!31 Then again the Jews took up stones, that they might stone Him.
John 10:11
11 I am the Good Shepherd! The Good Shepherd lays down His life on behalf of the sheep.
Romans 4:3-8
1 What then shall we say our father Abraham to have found according to flesh?
2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has a boast, but not with God.
3 For what does the Scripture say? “And Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.” Gen. 15:6
4 Now to one working, the reward is not counted according to grace, but according to debt.
5 But to the one not working, but believing on Him justifying the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6Even as also David says of the blessedness of the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered
;8 blessed the man to whom the Lord will in no way charge sin.” LXX-Psa. 31:1, 2; MT-Psa. 32:1, 2
Matthew 13:11-16
10 And coming near, the disciples said to Him, Why do You speak to them in parables?
11 And answering, He said to them, Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but it has not been given to those.
12For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have overabundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
13 Because of this, I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
14 And the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled on them, which says, “In hearing you will hear and in no way understand, and seeing you will see yet in no way perceive.
15 For the heart of this people has grown fat, and they heard heavily with the ears, and they have closed their eyes, that they not see with the eyes, or hear with the ears, and understand with the heart, and be converted, and I heal them.”
16 But your eyes are blessed because they see; and your ears because they hear.
2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
Romans 1:16-17
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek;
17 for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; even as it has been written, “But the just shall live by faith.” Hab. 2:4
Comment
The Lord of Promise has His children of promise’s salvation secured for all that the father gave to Him because of the work and person of Jesus Christ. Each of His elect have their time to come to changing their minds about sin. They all will come to the knowledge of the truth and believe the Gospel sometime between conception and death.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
1 First of all then, I exhort that petitions, prayers, supplications, and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men,
2 for kings and all the ones being in high position, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet existence in all godliness and dignity.
3For this is good and acceptable before God our Savior,4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to a full knowledge of truth.
Comment – All Men is referring to different classes of people such as Kings or ones in high positions.
The common people apparently were not praying for them.
Timothy was pointing out that some of God’s promised people that are taken out of every nation, tribe, language and people might include the class of people in high positions.
These also would be part of who the father might give to Jesus to be saved mentioned in John 6:37-39
2 Timothy 2:25
25 in meekness teaching those who have opposed, if perhaps God may give them repentance for a full knowledge of the truth,
Acts 20:28
28 Then take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God which He purchased through His own blood.
John 17:9
9 I pray concerning them; I do not pray concerning the world, but concerning the ones whom You gave to Me, because they are Yours.
Revelation 5:9
9 And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy are You to receive the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood purchased us to God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, Ephesians 1:7
John 10:14-16
14 I am the Good Shepherd, and I know those that are Mine, and I am known by the ones that are Mine. See John 3:3,5,8, 2 Corinthians 4:6
15 Even as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
16 And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.
Acts 13:48
48 And hearing, the nations rejoiced and glorified the Word of the Lord. And as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
Matthew 11:25-30
25 Answering at that time, Jesus said, I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of earth, because You hid these things from the sophisticated and cunning and revealed them to babes.
26 Yes, Father, for so it was pleasing before You.
27 All things were yielded up to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and the one to whom the Son purposes to reveal Him .
28 Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, “and you will find rest to your souls.” Jer. 6:16
30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
Luke 18:9-14
9 And He also spoke this parable to some of those relying on themselves, that they are righteous, and despising the rest:
10Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
12 I fast twice on the sabbath; I tithe all things, as many as I get.
13 And standing at a distance, the tax collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!
14 I say to you, This one went down to his house having been justified, rather than that one. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled. And the one humbling himself will be exalted.
Matthew 18:3-6
3 And He said, Truly I say to you, Unless you convert and become as the little children, not at all can you enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
4 Then whoever will humble himself as this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven.
5 And whoever will receive one such little child in My name receives Me.
6 But whoever causes one of these little ones believing in Me to offend, it is better for him that a millstone turned by an ass be hung on his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.
Comment
When you discover you have greatly sinned against God, you will come as a little child looking for mercy from God.
You will look for salvation from your sin in the work and person of Jesus Christ. You will know you cannot satisfy a holy and righteous God’s justice; but a perfect sinless substitute in your place can; only one qualifies, who is the only mediator between God and Man, Jesus Christ who is both God and Man.
2 Corinthians 4:3-7
3 But also if our gospel is being hidden, it has been hidden in those being lost,
4 in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the brightness of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.
5 For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus.
6 Because it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine,” who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Isa. 42:6, 7, 16
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the excellence of the power may be of God, and not from us;
1 Corinthians 1:1-31
1 Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,
2 to the assembly of God which is in Corinth, those having been sanctified in Christ Jesus, called-out saints, with all those calling on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I give thanks to my God always concerning you for the grace of God given to you in Christ Jesus,
5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all discourse and all knowledge
,6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,
7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting the revelation of our Lord, Jesus Christ,
8 who also will confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
10 Now I exhort you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you all say the same thing, and there be no divisions among you, but you be united in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For concerning you, my brothers, it was shown to me by those of Chloe that there are strifes among you.
12 But I say this, that each of you says, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.
13 Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
14 I give thanks to God that I did not baptize any one of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
15 that not anyone should say that you were baptized in my name.
16 And I also baptized the house of Stephanas. For the rest, I do not know if I baptized any other.
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to announce the gospel, not in wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ be made of no effect.
18 For the Word of the cross is foolishness to those being lost, but to us being saved, it is the power of God.
19 For it has been written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will set aside the understanding of the understanding ones.” Isa. 29:14
20 Where is the wise? Where the scribe? Where the lawyer of this world? Did God not make the wisdom of this world foolish?
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of preaching to save the ones believing.
22 And since Jews ask for a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom,
23 we, on the other hand, preach Christ crucified (truly an offense to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks),
24 but to the called out ones, both to Jews and to Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;
25 because the foolish thing of God is wiser than men, and the weak thing of God is stronger than men.
26 For you see your calling, brothers, that there are not many wise according to flesh, nor many powerful, not many wellborn.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world that the wise might be put to shame, and God chose the weak things of the world so that He might put to shame the strong things.
28 And God chose the low-born of the world, and the despised, and the things that are not, so that He might bring to nothing the things that are,
29 so that no flesh might glory in His presence.
30 But of Him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, both righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
31so that even as it has been written, “He that glories, let him glory in” the “Lord.” Jer. 9:24
Proverbs 16:4
4 Jehovah has made all for His purpose, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
Comment– YHWH, The I AM has made all for His purpose of demonstrating His attributes to all of His creation even the wicked were made for His glory and the benefit of His unconditionally chosen elect from before the foundation or creation of the world.
Romans 9 gives us a reason for God making the wicked. God had a purpose of raising up Pharaoh. He hardened Pharaoh’s heart to resist His command to let the Israelites go in order to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known in order to show His Grace, Love and Mercy on the Israelites coming out of slavery in Egypt . Isaiah 43:3
Romans 8:27-Romans 9:33
27 But the One searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He petitions on behalf of the saints according to God.
28 But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to those being called according to purpose;
Romans 9:1-33
1 I tell the truth in Christ, I do not lie, my conscience bearing witness with me in the Holy Spirit,
2 that my grief is great, and a never ceasing pain is in my heart,
3 for I myself was wishing to be a curse from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to flesh,
4 who are Israelites, whose are the adoption and the glory, and the covenants, and the Lawgiving, and the service, and the promises;
5 whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to flesh, He being God over all, blessed forever. Amen.
6 Not, however, that God’s Word has failed. For not all those of Israel are Israel,
7 nor because they are Abraham’s seed areall children, but “In Isaac a Seed shall be called to you.” Gen. 21:12
14 What then shall we say? Is there not unrighteousness with God? Let it not be!
15 For He said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will pity whomever I will pity.” Ex. 33:19
16 So, then, it is not of the onewilling, nor of the one running, but of the One showing mercy, of God.
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very thing I raised you up, so that I might display My power in you, and so that My name might be publicized in all the earth.” Ex. 9:16
18 So, then, to whom He desires, He shows mercy. And to whom He desires, He hardens.
19 You will then say to me, Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will?
20 Yes, rather, O man, who are you answering against God? Shall the thing formed say to the One forming it , Why did You make me like this? Isa. 29:16
21 Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, out of the one lump to make one vessel to honor, and one to dishonor? Jer. 18:6
22 But if God, desiring to demonstrate His wrath, and to make His power known, endured in much long-suffering vessels of wrath having been fitted out for destruction,
23 and that He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before prepared for glory,
24 whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also out of nations.
25 As also He says in Hosea, I will call those Not My people, My people! And those not beloved, Beloved! Hosea 2:23
26“And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people, there they will be called, “Sons of the Living God.” LXX-Hos. 2:1; MT-Hos. 2:23
27 But Isaiah cries on behalf of Israel, “If the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved.”
28 For He is bringing the matter to an end, and having been cut short “in righteousness,” “because the Lord” “will do a thing cut short” “on the earth.” Isa. 10:22, 23
29 And as Isaiah has said before, “Except the Lord of hosts left a seed to us, we would have become as Sodom, and we would have become as Gomorrah.” Isa. 1:9
30 What then shall we say? That the nations not following after righteousness have taken on righteousness, but a righteousness of faith;
31 but Israel following after a Law of righteousness did not arrive at a Law of righteousness?
32Why? Because it was not of faith, but as of works of Law. For they stumbled at the Stone-of-stumbling,
33 as it has been written, “Behold, I place in” “Zion a Stone-of-stumbling,” “and a Rock-of-offense,” “and everyone believing on Him will not be shamed.” LXX and MT-Isa. 28:16; MT-Isa. 8:14
Hebrews 3:15
15 as in the saying, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation.” Psalm 95:7,8 MT
Revelation 20:10-15
10 And the Devil leading them astray was thrown into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were . And they were tormented day and night to the ages of the ages.
11 And I saw a Great White Throne, and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled; and a place was not found for them.
12 And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and hell gave up the dead in them. And they were each judged according to their works.
14 And death and hell were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.
15 And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Comment– The names found in the book of life were there because of the work and person of Jesus Christ. Jesus promised to save everyone from their sins conditioned on His atoning shed blood and His imputed righteousness alone. Anyone judged for the salvation according to their works without being covered by His atoning shed blood ended up in the lake of fire.
The following is an exchange of comments between myself and another person listed as “ other person” on YouTube.
The subject is somewhat related to who is the “US” in 2 Peter 3:9?
2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
The other person, (Arminian slant) thinks Christ died for everyone without exception and desires to save all without exception That is how they define the “US” and “All” in
2 Peter 3:9
Other Scriptures say God fulfills all His desires so why would anyone end up in hell if that were true and the definition of “All and US” is all without exception.
So, the ones God not having any to perish must be a finite group equating to All the Father gives to Jesus that are guaranteed to not be lost in John 6:37-39 because Jesus always does the will of the father.
Job 23:13, Daniel 4:35, Isaiah 46:10,
Comment
Scripture teaches that Christ died effectually. It is reasonable to deduct they are those the father gives to Jesus to be effectually saved who all will come to the knowledge of truth by the work and gift of God through the Holy Spirit and be saved.
John 10:11,15
11 I am the Good Shepherd! The Good Shepherd lays down His life on behalf of the sheep.
15 Even as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
John 10:27
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Mark 10:45
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
Isaiah 53:11
11 He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul; He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge the righteous One, My Servant, shall justify for many, and He shall bear their iniquities.
John 6:37-39
37 All that the Father gives to Me shall come to Me, and the one coming to Me I will in no way cast out.38 For I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.39 And this is the will of the Father sending Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any of it, but shall raise it up in the last day.
They will know their righteousness is no more than a menstrual cloth and only God is good and that salvation is conditioned solely on the atoning shed blood and imputed righteousness alone without effort and or work from those Jesus represented in His perfect life lived and atoning shed blood. Isaiah 64:6, Luke 18:13,19 Romans 1:16-17, Romans 3, Romans 4:3-8 Romans 10, Acts 20:28 Isaiah 53, Hebrews 9:22

Those who change God’s word to suit their own doctrine are followers of the Serpent in the Garden. I’m neither Calvinist nor Armenian. I’m not Catholic nor JW. I’m not a follower of any man. I believe God’s word AS IT IS WRITTEN.
“IT IS NOT GOD’S WILL THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH.”
WHAT PART OF THAT VERSE ARE YOU COMPELLED TO CHANGE?

Comment– the other person must be referring to verse
2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
Question : Who is the “US” that Peter is addressing? Is it The believers and eventual believers that were given to Jesus by the father to be saved or every single person that has lived is living or will live.
2 Timothy 2:25 says repentance is granted by God. God doesn’t grant repentance to everyone. 2 Thessalonians 3:2
So, does that mean God fails to fulfill His purpose or desires if He purposes every individual that has lived, will live and is living not to perish if some still end up in hell?
Yes, but we know God accomplishes all His desires and desires only to save all that are given to Jesus by The Father John 3:8. He promised to save His people and All the Father gives will be saved by Jesus.
Jesus paid the substitutional price to effectually redeem all the children of promise given to Jesus to effectually save and raise up at His return.
So, Peter must be talking to the assembly of believers and the ones given by the father that have not yet come to the knowledge of the truth in order to be saved from their sins.
The verses below say nothing can thwart His will; not even man’s will. So, whoever God determines will be saved, will be saved.
Job 23:13 says
13 But He is in one mind , and who can turn Him? Yea, His soul desires, and He does it .
Isaiah 14:27
27 For Jehovah of Hosts has purposed. And who shall reverse it ? And His hand is stretched out. Who shall turn it back?
Daniel 4:35
35 And all those living in the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will among the army of Heaven, and among those living in the earth. And no one is able to strike His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?
Isaiah 46:10
10 declaring the end from the beginning, and from the past those things which were not done, saying, My counsel shall rise; and, I will do all My desire;
Isaiah 55:11
11 so shall My Word be, which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in what I sent it to do!12
The above verses make it clear that God will save whoever He desires to save and Man’s will, will not interfere with that happening because all the father gives to Jesus Christ will be saved and raised up in the last day.
Comment
When God says He is not willing that any should perish, the church must be those that believe the gospel or will believe who are the ones the father gave to Jesus to be effectually saved and raised up in the last day. The promised people in 2 Peter 3:9 are those covered by Jesus Christ’s atoning shed blood and His imputed righteousness alone.
If Jesus died for every individual, then the cross in and of itself was not effectual since some end up in hell; but since Jesus only died for the elect, the ones the father gave Him, then the statement that He is not willing any should perish fits showing God fulfills all His desires since All are saved that He gave to Jesus .

Read the context and how ” All Men” is used in 1 Timothy 2 ( All classes or kinds of men)

In the old covenant period only the believers within the nation of Israel did the blood of lamb relate. The blood sacrifice of the lambs did not apply to other nations Amos 3:2
Christ died only for His unconditional elect chosen from before the foundation of the world John 6:36-39 John 10:26 Ephesians
1:4-11 John 6:29 John 10 John 10:26
It makes no sense for The father to give a group to Jesus to be saved while Jesus atoned for every single human being while knowing some will end up in hell. He is only saving and regenerating by the spirit the group given to Him by the father.
The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit are always in synchronicity. The Father chooses, the Son redeems and The Spirit regenerates.

God always fulfills all His desires So, if He wants to save every single individual that has lived is living or will live, He failed; but we know that God cannot fail because one of His attributes is He is LORD of all and is Totally Sovereign. Matthew 23:37 – Jesus is holding the Pharisees accountable for not sending their children that they were leading astray to Him for Teaching.
He was talking true teacher to false teacher. The Pharisees were lost and thought Jesus was nothing more than a teacher.
They did not know Him; showing they were not regenerated from above John 3:8 by God through the spirit.
Jesus knew that all the father gives Him would come to Him and He would save them from their sins solely conditioned His atoning shed blood and His imputed righteousness alone which would be received by God worked and given faith. John 6:35-65
2 Corinthians 4:6, John 6:29 Ephesians 2:8-10
The Matthew 23:37 verse is just demonstrating that Jesus is holding the Pharisees accountable.
That is all.
It has nothing to do with Jesus being helpless and dependent on their wills or their children’s will that they are leading astray.
After all Jesus said let the blind lead the blind.
Jesus was both God/Man The Pharisees only thought He was a man.

This world’s ruler is in subjection to God proven by Job 1 and Job 2 God always accomplishes His decretive will Isaiah 55:11 plus all the verses I already sent you
The issue between us is your definition of “US“
In 2 Peter 3:9
I say Peter is talking to the called out Assembly of God that have come to the knowledge of truth and believe the Gospel and those in the future that will be joining the assembly that Jesus bought with His blood Acts 20:28
They all will come to the knowledge of the truth sometime between conception and death at their appointed time by God.
You say “US is everyone that has ever lived, will live and is living. You say Christ died for all yet some end up in hell.
This conditions salvation on the sinner and makes God somebody who is waiting for someone to accept Him which lends the possibility that no would be saved which makes God a god who cannot save. Scripture says no one searches after the true God.
The Bible says All the father gives to Jesus can’t be lost. Jesus did not die for more than the father determined to give Him from before the foundation of the world. This same given group given by the father that can’t be lost are the children of promise that the Lord is not willing should perish in 2 Peter 3:9
Your systematic approach is disjointed and therefore not biblical.
God wants to show His wrath and make His power known ( He raised up Pharaoh for that purpose) in order to show the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy prepared beforehand ( in eternity before creation) for glory
Other Person
God is patient and waiting on man, as he doesn’t desire any to perish.
But, Calvin said it is God’s will that many will perish.
God was unaware that it was his own will that will cause many to perish?
Nice of Calvinists to point that out to God. Was he shocked?
Double AJ
I’m not a Calvinist, I’m using scripture. If God accomplishes all His desires which scripture proves and God is not willing that any should perish and all the father gives ( The children of promise) to Jesus to be saved will be saved; then the “US” in 2 Peter 3:9 has to be the ones the father gives over time that will eventually come to repentance and knowledge of the truth at His appointed time Acts 13:48 which requires His long suffering with their sin. The Lord of Promise promised to save His people.
Matthew 1:21-23
21 And she will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.
22 And all this happened so that might be fulfilled that which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23 “Behold! The virgin will conceive in her womb and will bear a son, and they will call His name Emmanuel” (which translated is, God with us).
Natural man has no desire to come to the true God through Jesus Christ. No one comes unless God drags him. If God desired to save everyone, everyone would be saved because no one can resist His will. Romans 9:19, John 6:44,
1 Corinthians 2:14, Romans 3 John 3:19-20
Free will is the Garden of Eden’s ego boost.
The Bible is clear if we have faith it has been given 1 Corinthians 4:7

You’re deceived. For God so loved the world (elect????) that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever (elect????), believes in him should not perish (perish anyway?????), but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 context says
15 that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus was talking to Nicodemus who was, I believe, a Pharisee. They had always thought only they were God’s people.
When Jesus used the term “World” that would of meant to Nicodemus Jew and Gentile
Every believing One without distinction. World meaning Jew and Gentile believing one’s were loved.
We already know that believing is synonymous with coming to the true Jesus and it is a gift to only the ones the father gives to Jesus to be saved. John 6:36-39, Revelation 5:9
Another context proving ” World” in this context does not mean every individual is in
John 17:9
9 | pray concerning them; I do not pray concerning the world, but concerning the ones whom You gave to Me, because they are Yours.
Once again, we are talking about believing ones composed of Jew and Gentile taken from every nation tribe language and people Revelation 5:9,7:9
Jesus only died for His sheep John 10
Acts 20:28
Once again, I’m not a Calvinist
We are back to the start. Faith is a gift of God to whom He chooses out of Jew and Gentile
John 3:8
8 The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit.
Philippians 1:6, 1:29, 2:13, 2
Thessalonians 2:13 John 6:36-39
Comment– I think the “other person” stopped commenting once they discovered “ World” didn’t mean in the context every single person that has or is or will exist when Jesus said “ I pray not for the world; but for those you have given me.
