Believers boast in The Cross Of Christ

1 Corinthians 4:7

7 ¶ For who makes you to differ? And what do you have that you did not receive? And (if )you received (it), why do you boast as not receiving (it)?

John 1:12,13

But as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become children of God, to the (ones)believing into His name,

13 who were generated not of blood, nor of (the)will of the flesh, nor of (the) will of man, but were generated of God.

John 3:27

John answered and said, A man is able to receive nothing if it is not given to him from Heaven.

11 Jesus answered, You would not have authority against Me, not even any if it was not being given to you from above. Because of this the one giving Me over to you has a greater sin.

2 Thessalonians 2:10

and in all deception of unrighteousness in the ones perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth in order for them to be saved.

Comment

All that received Him were generated by God not by the will of man. The ones that did not receive the love of the truth were not given the love of the truth through regeneration of the spirit. John 3:3-8 If receiving him was an act of man, then they could boast.

Believers boast in the cross of Christ and His imputed righteousness because His taking on his people’s punishment for their sin as the perfect sinless substitute imputing or crediting His righteousness to their account is the only ground of their salvation. Romans 1:16,17 John 6:29 Romans 3:21-31 Romans 4:1-8 demonstrates that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to every believing and that Faith In that Gospel is a gift and a work of God In the believer.
Ephesians 2:8-10

8 for by grace you are having been saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves;( it is) the gift of God;

9 not of works, that not anyone should boast;

10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

John 6:29
Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe into (Him) whom that One sent.

Galatians 6:14

But may it never be for me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

1 Corinthians 2:2

For I decided not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ, and Him being crucified.

2 Corinthians 4:6

Because it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine,” the One who shone in our hearts to give the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Isa. 42:6, 7, 16

Galatians 2:16

knowing that a man is not justified by works of Law, if not through faith of Jesus Christ (we also believed into Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith of Christ and not by works of Law, be- cause all flesh will not be justified by works of Law). Psa. 123:2
