John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 17:9
I ask (pray)concerning them; I do not ask (pray) concerning the world, but concerning the ones whom You have given to Me, because they are Yours.
Comment
It is commonly understood that world in John 3:16 means that God loves every individual in the world; but in John 17:9 Jesus defines the world as the ones the Father has given him; since he is not praying for the world but for the ones the Father has given him; the ones that are believing into him. The Jews understood the term world to mean a world including the Gentiles. So the meaning in both verses would mean together that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that every Jew and Gentile believing into him would not perish, but have everlasting life
Revelation 7:9
After these things I saw, and behold, a large multitude which no one was able to number them, out of every nation, even tribes and peoples and languages, standing in front of the throne, and be- fore the Lamb, having been clothed with white robes, and in their hands palm branches.
John 6:37-44
All who the Father gives to Me shall come to Me, and the one coming to Me I will not cast out, not ever,
Comment
In John 6:37 we discover that all the Jews and Gentiles that the Father gives to Jesus will come believing into Him and Jesus being always the one doing the will of the Father will not cast out, not ever, those coming to Him. The ones believing into Him are the ones God the Father regenerated and gave a new heart and spirit unto belief …explained in John 3:3-8, Revelation 7:9
2 Thessalonians 2:13,Ezekiel 36:26
John 6:65And He said, Because of this, I have told you no one is able to come to Me if it is not given to him from my Father.
38 for I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
39 And this is the will of the Father sending Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any of it, but shall raise it up in the last day.
Comment
Jesus always does the Father’s will and the will of the Father is all that He gives to the Son will never be lost but will be raised up into incorruptibility on the last day. God promises to save his people. God always does what he desires. God is Sovereign over all things because he created all things created …Matthew 1:21, Matthew 16:18, Isaiah 46:10, Job 23:13, John 1:3
40 And this is the will of the One having sent Me, that everyone seeing the Son and believing into Him should have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day
41 Therefore the Jews murmured about Him, because He said, I am the Bread coming down out of Heaven.
Comment
These Jews had not yet been given the knowledge by God the Father of Jesus Christ, who he was and what he will accomplish.
42 And they said, Is this not Jesus the son of Joseph, of whom we know the father and the mother? How, then, does this One now say, I have come down out of Heaven?
43 Therefore Jesus answered and said to them, Do not murmur with one another.
44 No one is able to come to me if not the Father, the One having sent Me, draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day
Romans 8:28-31
But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to the ones being called out ones according to purpose;
29 ¶ because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First- begotten among many brothers.
Comment
To foreknow means to know beforehand. It means God had an intimate love of certain people. God FORE-LOVED certain people. He loved them from before the foundation of the world. God unconditionally chose to love certain people from before the foundation of the world according to his purpose and will for his glory. His choosing would be unconditional because he planned, ordained, predestined and created everything. He is not dependent on any of his creation or anything from them or in them. He is sovereign. If He creates what he intends to create then he is not subjected to the conditions within his creation and does not choose or act in dependence on his creation. God so loved his unconditionally chosen people from the foundation of the world.
30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31 ¶ What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Matthew 16:16-18
16 And answering, Simon Peter said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And answering, Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you but My Father in Heaven.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against her.
Comment
All knowledge of the truth is a revelation and gift from God. John 8:32 John 17:3, Matthew 11:27, 1 Peter2:9 Jesus said he will build his assembly of believers conditioned on who he is and inherently in him is what he accomplished…. The salvation of his people conditioned on his shed blood and imputed perfect righteousness to their account without any contribution from the sinner being saved Matthew 1:21
Genesis 1:31
31 ¶ And God saw all that He had made and behold, it was very good. And it was evening, and it was morning, the sixth day.
Comment
Originally what God created was good. So God would have loved his creation and the world … then sin entered the world through one man, Adam. Genesis 1:31, Romans 5:12,John 3:16
Genesis 2:16,17
And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Eating you may eat of every tree in the garden;
17 but of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil you may not eat, for in the day of the eating of it, dying you shall die.
Romans 5:12
Because of this, even as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death passed to all men, inasmuch as all sinned.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 3:3,5,8
3 Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.
5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated out of water and Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.
Comment
The water in the above verse is most likely a metaphor for the word of God…. The Gospel heard understood and believed. It wouldn’t be baptism in water because water is listed first and Spirit second. The Spirit regenerates first unto belief of the Gospel and baptism comes after belief. Also, it doesn’t seem likely it means the water surrounding the baby inside the placenta. A good explanation as a metaphor for water comes from Ephesians 5:25,26
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Assembly and gave Himself up on her behalf,
26 that He might sanctify her, cleansing it by the bathing of the water in the Word,
Comment
As Christ loves the assembly of believers, He sanctifies and cleanses the assembly of believers by the bathing of the water in the Word; so would Husbands love their wives by cleansing her by the bathing of the water in God’s Word
8 The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit.
Comment
The Spirit Sovereignly goes and regenerates wherever and whomever he chooses
John 10:27,28
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Comment
Jesus said his sheep hear his voice. His sheep cannot hear his voice until they are regenerated from above. The natural man cannot hear his voice because they are spiritually dead and he cannot discern spiritual things because he does not have the spirit because Adam’s sin was imputed to all his descendants Genesis 2:17, 1 Corinthians 2:14
28 And I give eternal life to them, and they shall not perish to the age, not ever! And not anyone shall snatch them out of My hand.
1 John 2:15,16,17
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
16 because everything in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
17 And the world is passing away, and its lust. But the one doing the will of God abides unto the age.
Comment
The Natural spiritually dead man a descendant of Adam loves the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life… it fills his boastful delusional pride that originated with the Serpent in the Garden of Eden. He doesn’t know the biblical God through Jesus Christ
Proverbs 6:16-19
2 Peter 3:11,12,13
11 Therefore, all these things being about to be dissolved, of what sort ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the Day of God, through which the heavens being set on fire will be dissolved; and the elements being burned up?
13 But according to His promise, we look for “new heavens and a new earth,” in which righteousness dwells. Isa. 65:17
Revelation 21:1-8
¶ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea not still is.
2 And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, having been prepared as a bride, having been adorned for her Husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God (Jesus Christ)with men! And He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His peoples, and God Himself will be with them as their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor outcry, nor will there be pain still; for the first things passed away.
5 And the One sitting on the throne said, Behold! I make all things new. And He says to me, Write, because these words are faithful and true.
6 And He said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the one thirsting, I will freely give of the fountain of the water of life.
7 The one overcoming will inherit all things, and I will be God to him, and he will be the son to Me.
8 But for the cowardly and faithless ones, and disgusting ones, and murderers, and fornicators, and users of magic, and idola- ters, and all liars, their part will be in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death
