Romans 1:16 (KJ3)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to every (one) believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek;
17 for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; even as it is written, “But the just one shall live by faith.” Hab. 2:4
Comment
The Apostle Paul was not embarrassed of the Gospel of Christ because it is the dynamite of God unto salvation to every (one)believing.
The Greek word dunamis is where we get our English word for dynamite or power.
When one of God’s chosen people hear the truth it reacts on them like dynamite and it won’t be a matter of choosing or not choosing what you will have for dinner.
They will believe the Gospel of Christ that salvation is conditioned solely on his shed blood and his perfect imputed righteousness for his people being saved.
They will know that they are unrighteous by nature falling short of the necessary standard set by God and that they are helplessly unable to meet up to God’s standard and their only hope is in God becoming flesh as their substitute taking on their punishment for their sin and suffering the wrath of God after living a life in perfect righteousness in thought word and deed which is imputed to their account to satisfy God being a just God and a savior.
They will know his shed blood and perfect righteousness credited substitutionally to their account is the only condition for their salvation.
Salvation is received through God given faith in his shed blood along with his imputed righteousness through God regenerating the heart and spirit of his people.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute sin and imputes righteousness apart from works
Romans 3:9-31, Isaiah 45:21-25, Matthew 27:46, Romans 4:5-8, Hebrews 4:15,
John 1:1-3,14,18, Luke 18:13,
2 Thessalonians 2:13,
2 Corinthians 4:6, Psalm 32:1,2
In Matthew 27:44 both plunderers crucified with Jesus one on the right of Him and one on the left started out defaming him and were mocking Him
Matthew 27:38-46,
Mark 15:27-37,
Luke 23:32 -43, John19:18
Then later on in the scriptural accounts… 1 plunderer changed his mind because God had regenerated him unto belief into Jesus being Lord and Savior. God had shined into his heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. The plunderer believed the Gospel and had passed from death to life
2 Corinthians 4:6, John 5:24, John 3:3-8
The one plunderer acknowledged his unrighteousness while acknowledging Christ’s righteousness and his reverence for God… calling Him Lord. Recognizing He was in control of eternity and a kingdom in the after life… all while knowing they both would die that day …. he knew He was Lord of all …saying Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come in your kingdom and then in
Luke 23: 43 Jesus said to him,
Truly I say to you, Today you will be with Me in Paradise.

The apostle says, The Gospel of Christ is the Power of God unto salvation to every (one)believing Romans 1:16

The Gospel is not the Power of God unto salvation to every (one) not believing.

This power of regeneration unto belief of the Gospel is found and explained in John 3:3-8.
Also, an analogy in John 3:3-8 is used … “the Spirit breathes where He desires“ …which consequently reveals and tells us that the Spirit Sovereignly regenerates unto belief of the gospel whom He desires….. when John 3:8 ….says “so is everyone generated from the spirit”
John 3:3-8
Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus said to Him, How is a man able to be generated, being old? He is not able to enter into his mother’s womb a second time and be generated.
5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated out of water and Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.

One explanation for the metaphorical meaning of water in the verse above John 3:5 would be a reference to the cleansing Word of God through the working of the spirit of God.
The Gospel of Christ has to go out by some means of communication , be heard, understood and believed.
In Ephesians 5:25,26 it uses water metaphorically as sanctifying and cleansing the assembly of believers by the bathing of the Water of the Word while making a comparison of Husband’s loving their wives as Christ loved the assembly, his bride, in other Bible verses. The cleansing of both, the Assembly and the wife of the husband, is by the bathing of the Water of the Word through the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 5:25,26
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Assembly and gave Himself up on her behalf,
26 that He might sanctify her, cleansing it by the bathing of the water in the Word,
6 The thing having been generated out of the flesh is flesh, and that having been generated out of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Do not wonder because I said to you, You must be generated from above.
8 The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the spirit
The one plunderer on one side of Jesus appeared to remain in unbelief of the gospel of Christ while the other was regenerated by God and given a new heart and spirit unto belief and had passed from death to life
