God’s Sovereignty

Mark 16:16

The one believing ( The Gospel of Christ)and being baptized will be saved; but the one not believing will be condemned.

Comment

God made the gate and path that leads to eternal life very narrow. The effectual work of Jesus Christ’s shed blood and his imputed perfect righteousness in thought word and deed is that narrow gate. Matthew 7:13,14

God regenerates the dead spirit unto spiritual life of the people 1 Corinthians 2:14 that Christ represented unto belief of the gospel that Salvation is by Jesus Christ’s work, shedding his blood, (without the shedding of blood of the unblemished sacrifice there is no forgiveness of sin), and his imputed perfect righteousness alone credited to their account without any contribution from the people he represented.

Jesus Christ was the substitute for his people making him a just God and Savior

John 3:3-8, Matthew 1:21, Romans 3:20, Hebrews 9:23, Hebrews 9:28, Hebrews 9:14, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, Romans 4:3-8, Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 6:23, Acts 13:48, John 5:24, Romans 9:18, John 6:29, Romans 8:28-31,33

John 3:8

The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit.

Comment

God is Sovereign overall his creation and his spirit goes wherever and to whomever he desires to generate unto belief of the Gospel and gives eternal life

Romans 11:36

36 Because of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

Comment

Everything created is because of him through him and to him. Nothing is out of his control including thoughts words and deeds. God is demonstrating his love, mercy, justice, power and wrath in all of creation

Revelation 4:11

11 Lord, You are worthy to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because You created all things, and through Your will they exist and were created.

Comment

Everything that God has created is according to his purpose according to the counsel of his will… (Ephesians 1:11)

Proverbs 16:4

Jehovah has made all for His purpose, yea, even the wicked one for the day of evil things.

Comment

God made the wicked because he desires to display his wrath and to make his power known ( Romans 9:22,23)

Romans 9:21

Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, out of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and one to dishonor?

Jer. 18:6

Comment

God has the right being the potter to make out of the same neutral lump vessels of mercy and vessels of wrath fitted out for destruction

Romans 9:22,23

22 But if God, desiring to display wrath, and to make His power known, endured in much long-suffering vessels of wrath having been fitted out for destruction,

23 and that ( in order that) He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before prepared for glory,

Comment

God wants to make known to the vessels of mercy what he has saved them from.

Matthew 15:13

But answering, He said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up.

14 Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

Matthew 15:25,26

25 Answering at that time, Jesus said, I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of earth, because You hid these things from the sophisticated and learned ones and re- vealed them to babes.

26 Yes, Father, for so it was pleasing before You.

Comment

The ones that follow false doctrine are as blind as the ones leading them.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6

But if even our gospel is being hidden, it has been hidden in the ones perishing,

4 in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the faithless ones, so that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

5 For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus.

6 Because it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine,” the One who shone in our hearts to give the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Isa. 42:6, 7, 16

Comment

The Sovereign Lord of all is the one who shines the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ into the hearts of all the Father gives to Jesus.

They will come to Jesus believing the Gospel of Christ that salvation is a free gift of God conditioned solely on His work and person alone and that their righteousness is a filthy menstruation cloth

Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:10-12, Psalm 51:5,

2 Corinthians 4:6, Romans 5:16, Romans 6:23, Acts 8:20, Daniel 4:35

John 6:37-44

37 All who the Father gives to Me shall come to Me, and the one coming to Me I will not cast out, not ever,

38 for I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

39 And this is the will of the Father send- ing Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any of it, but shall raise it up in the last day.

40 And this is the will of the One having sent Me, that everyone seeing the Son and believing into Him should have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

41 Therefore the Jews murmured about Him, because He said, I am the Bread com- ing down out of Heaven.

42 And they said, Is this not Jesus the son of Joseph, of whom we know the father and the mother? How, then, does this One now say, I have come down out of Heaven?

43 Therefore Jesus answered and said to them, Do not murmur with one another.

44 No one is able to come to me if not my Father, the One having sent Me, draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

Comment

The Father is responsible for who comes to Jesus in faith in the Gospel and Jesus will not lose one of them but will raise it up on the last day to eternal life

Exodus 4:21

And Jehovah said to Moses, As you go to return to Egypt, see all the wonders which I have put in your hand, and do them before Pharaoh. And I will make strong his heart, and he will not send the people away.

Comment

God said he will have mercy on whom he will and harden whom he will …so salvation is not of the (one )willing or the (one)working but by the mercy of God

Romans 9:16

16 So, then, it is not of the one willing, nor of the one running, but of the One having mercy, of God.

Romans 9:18

18 So, then, to whom He wills, He shows mercy; but to whom He wills, He hardens

Psalms 92:7

When the wicked ones flourish like grass, and all the evildoers blossom, it is for them to be destroyed forever.

Comment

When the wicked flourish and blossom in this world it is for them to be destroyed forever in eternity .

Psalms 73:12,18

12 Behold! These are the wicked ones who are always at ease; they increase their riches.

18 Surely, You will set them in slippery places; You will make them fall into ruin.

Comment

The wicked increase in riches but end up on slippery ground and God will cause them to fall into ruin.

Romans 8:28-31

But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to the ones being called out ones according to purpose;

29 ¶ because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First- begotten among many brothers.

30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

31 ¶ What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Comment

God unconditionally fore-loved certain individuals from before the foundation of world to demonstrate his love and mercy based on Jesus Christ’s shed blood and His imputed righteousness as the perfect substitute for those certain individuals making God a just God and Savior.

He experienced the wrath of God on the cross while suffering for his people’s sins after living a perfect life in thought word and deed fulfilling the Law that they had no ability to fulfill. Jesus Christ satisfied in their place the righteousness necessary to gain heaven.

Acts 2:23,24

this One given up by the before determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you having taken by lawless hands, having crucified Him, you killed Him.

24 But God raised Him up, loosening the throes of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.

Acts 4:24-28

And hearing they with one passion lifted voice to God and said, Master, You are the God, the One “making the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all things in them,” Ex. 20:11

25 who through the mouth of Your servant David said, “Why did the nations rage, and the peoples meditate vain things?

26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were assembled on the same day against the Lord, and against His Anointed One.” Psa. 2:1, 2

27 For on a truth both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations and the peoples of Israel, were assembled against Your holy Servant, Jesus, whom You anointed,

28 to do as many things as Your hand and Your purpose before determined to occur

Comment

For the good of God’s unconditionally chosen people from before the foundation of the world, God controlled the thoughts, words and actions of all because He predetermined how, when and by whom Jesus Christ would be sacrificed.

Daniel 4:29-37

29 At the end of twelve months, he was walking in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

30 The king answered and said, Is this not great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom, by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

31 The word was still in the king’s mouth when a voice fell from the heaven, saying, O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: The kingdom has been taken from you!

32 And you shall be driven from men, and your abode will be with the beast of the field. You shall be fed with the grass like oxen, and seven times shall pass by over you until you know that the Most High is ruling in the kingdom of men, and that He gives it to whomever He desires.

33 In its moment the thing was fulfilled on Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven from men, and he ate the grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the heaven, until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.

34¶And at the end of days,I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to the heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High. And I praised and honored Him who lives forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom from generation and generation.

35 And all those living in the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will among the army of Heaven, and among those living in the earth. And no one is able to strike His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?

36 In its moment my reason and the glory of my kingdom returned to me, my majesty, and my brightness returned to me. And my advisers and my nobles sought to me. And I was re-established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me.

37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the King of Heaven, for all His works are truth, and His ways are justice. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

Comment

King Nebuchadnezzar became boastful about being King of Babylon and thought he built the kingdom.

God proved different and made him realize that God is Sovereign over everything.

God made King Nebuchadnezzar’s abode among the beasts eating grass for seven times passed until he came to realize that the Most High is ruling in the kingdom of men and that he gives it to whomever he chooses

Proverbs 21:1

As streams of waters, the king’s heart is in the hand of Jehovah; He extends it wherever He desires

Comment

Out of the heart comes the thoughts which means God is in control of the heart which generates the thoughts which generate words and actions.

Revelation 17:17

For God gave (put) into their hearts to do His mind, and to act in one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

Comment

Knowing now that God is in full control of all things and predestined all things from before the foundation of the world, he says the following

Matthew 11:27-30

All things were given over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and to whomever the Son purposes to reveal Him.

28 Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, “and you will find rest to your souls.” Jer. 6:16

30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

Comment

Jesus says all things are in his hands and no one knows the Father except Him and to whomever He purposes to reveal the Father to and we know that the Father is the one that gives to Him John 6:37 his people that will believe into Him.

He says above…. all you that are laboring and being burdened (by your sin and the world’s sin) and (the worlds frame of reference which is supported by the ruler of this world, Satan. ) John 14:30..(The world that loves following after the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life) 1 John 2:16 .come unto me. He generates you with a New Heart and New spirit Ezekiel 36:26 unto belief of the gospel that salvation is a gift by the work and person of Christ John 3:3-8 and frees you from the fear of death..

Hebrews 2:15.. he causes you to be free from the bondage of sin…. unto righteousness Romans 6:20 He promises to save his people that he died for Matthew 1:21 and if you rest in his work and perfect righteousness for your salvation, you are free from trying to establish your own righteousness to earn your salvation which righteousness you don’t have and can’t achieve to satisfy God’s requirements of the required fulfilling of the Law in thought word and deed

Romans 10:1-4 , John 17:3,

Romans 3:8-12,20

In his people that he has generated unto belief of the gospel, John 3:3-8 he works inside of them the willing and the doing for his purpose and pleasure. This is not burdensome because he is providing the desire to move and the strength through his spirit

Philippians 4:13.. He is working the work or the action through his spirit from start to finish … from regeneration to final glorification .. Romans 8:9, Romans 8:28-33

Philippians 2:13 He also promises to complete the work in you that he has begun (Philippians 1:6)until his return when the believer saved by Grace through faith, which is a gift of God, Ephesians 2:8-10 will receive the sinless glorified incorruptible body at the resurrection …..1 Corinthians 15:53,54 all to the glory of God which he will not share with anyone else.
