The Children of Promise counted for a Seed

Genesis 3:15

15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

Genesis 21:12

12 And God said to Abraham, Let it not be evil in your eyes because of the boy, and on account of your slave-girl. All that Sarah says to you, listen to her voice, for in Isaac your Seed shall be called.

Isaiah 53:10

¶ But Jehovah pleased to crush Him, to make Him sick, so that if He should put His soul as a guilt offering, He shall see His seed; He shall prolong His days; and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in His hand.

Genesis 22:18

18 And in your Seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because you have obeyed My voice.

Romans 5:12

Because of this, even as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death passed to all men, inasmuch as all sinned.

Comment

The guilt of Adam’s sin passed on to all men that Adam represented and death passed to all men because all sinned.

Romans 5:15

15 But not as the deviation, so also is the free gift. For if by the deviation of the one (man) the many died, much more the grace of God, and the gift in grace, which is of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to the many

Romans 5:16

And the gift is not as through one having sinned; for indeed the judgment was of one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many deviations to justification.

Comment

The many died by the deviation of the one man while the gift in Grace, which is of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to the many to justification. The many to justification are those Jesus Christ represented in his death and perfect life lived. The Last Adam a Spirit giving life to His people Matthew 1:21, John 10:26-28, John 6:37

1 Corinthians 15:45

So also it has been written, “The” first “man”, Adam, “became a living soul;” the last Adam a Spirit giving life.

Comment

The last Adam a Spirit giving life to the ones He represented through regeneration from above to those the Father has given him; the ones He gives eternal life; who will never be lost. John 6:65, John 3:3-8, John 6:37-44

Matthew 1:21

And she will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

Comment

His people would equate to His (spiritual seed) Saved by Grace conditioned on the faith of Christ, completing His work and imputing His righteousness to their account as their substitute unto belief of the Gospel through regeneration; without any contribution from the sinner’s effort, faith or work; but from God who chose to have mercy on them irrespective of their will, running or working.

Comment

There would be no need to pray to God for a natural man’s salvation who is seeking to establish his own righteousness who doesn’t know the righteousness of God, if he had the free will or freedom to choose to believe the Gospel and save himself. Romans 10:1-4

Romans 5:18

So therefore, as through one deviation came to all men to condemnation, so also through one effected righteousness came to all men to justification of life.

( His people, justification came unto all men, coming out of every nation, even tribes, and languages and peoples declared righteous based on Jesus Christ’s work and person alone, who he has given everlasting life) Revelation 7:9

Comment

Not All Men as individuals without exception are justified to life; So, All Men would mean All Men (without distinction)that Christ represented and chose unconditionally from every nation, even tribes, and peoples and languages, Revelation 7:9 . His death and perfect life lived brought justification of life to His people since His Atonement was effectual only for whom he died. The many that He represented will be constituted righteous conditioned solely on His shed blood and His imputed righteousness. These are the children of Promise unconditionally chosen before they had done anything good or bad from before the foundation of the world without any contribution or effort from the sinner. Salvation is a pure gift from God by Grace to whom He chooses to have mercy on; based on Jesus Christ’s work and person alone Romans 3:24, Romans 9:8, John 10, Ephesians 1:4, Romans 9:11, Romans 4:6-8, Ephesians 1:4, Ephesians 2:8-10, John 6:37-44, John 6:65, John 3:27, 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14, 2 Corinthians 4:6, John 10:3

Romans 5:19

For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were constituted sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many shall be constituted righteous.

Comment

The many that Adam represented were constituted sinners. The many that Christ represented were constituted righteous. The many that Christ represented and constituted righteous are His People, His Sheep, Children of Promise, The Elect, The Chosen. His people are All Men that He represented in His death and perfect life lived. Adam is the first representative and Christ is the last Adam or last representative. Note: If Christ paid for the sins of every individual then every individual would be saved, regenerated, unto belief of the Gospel, and would enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus Christ’s Atonement was effectual; paying only for the sins of His people; that He promised to save. The Children of Promise ( regarded or reckoned for a Seed) Matthew 1:21, Romans 9:8

John 10:11

I am the Good Shepherd! The Good Shepherd lays down His life on behalf of the sheep.

Comment

The sheep he laid down His life for are the unconditionally chosen elect from before the foundation of the world

Ephesians 1:3-5, Roman 9:11

John 10:26

But you do not believe, for (because) you are not of My sheep, even as I said to you.

Comment

They don’t believe the Gospel because they are not part of His sheep. They were not given to Jesus by the Father or generated from above with a new heart or spirit from God. God did not choose to have mercy on them but chose to harden them. They were not planted by the Father. Matthew 15:13, John 3:3-8, John 6:37-44, Romans 9:8-23

John 10:27

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Note: You cannot hear His voice unless you are generated with a new heart and spirit from above by the Sovereign Lord of All.

Comment

All who God sovereignly generates unconditionally from above with a new heart and spirit will hear His voice and follow Him. John 3:3-8, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Ezekiel 36:26

John 10:28

And I give eternal life to them (my sheep), and they shall not perish to the age, not ever! And not anyone shall snatch them out of My hand.

John 6:37-39

All who the Father gives to Me shall come to Me, and the one coming to Me I will not cast out, not ever,

for I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

And this is the will of the Father sending Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any of it, but shall raise it up in the last day.

Romans 9:6

nor because they are Abraham’s seed are all children, but “In Isaac a Seed shall be called to you.” Gen. 21:12

Romans 9:7

It is not, however, that God’s Word has failed. For not all the ones of Israel, these are of Israel,

Romans 9:8

That is: not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.

Roman 9:11

for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling,

Comment

Election is unconditional and not based on anything done good or bad but according to the sovereign will, purpose and calling of God. He will have mercy on whom he wills and hardens whom he wills.

Galatians 3:16

But the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed (it does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed, which is Christ). Gen. 3:15; 21:12; 22:18, Rom. 9:7; Heb. 11:18

Comment

The Children of promise or the Elect, who are reckoned for a seed; the spiritual seed of Jesus Christ who were saved out of sinful man conditioned solely on His work and His imputed perfect righteousness without any effort or condition from those sinners; They were unconditionally chosen from before the foundation of the world. They are being conformed into the image of Christ and this is the work of God. Romans 8:29, Philippians 1:13, 1:6, John 6:29

Romans 9:8

That is: not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.

Romans 9:11

for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling,

Romans 9:16

So, then, it is not of the one willing, nor of the one running, but of the One having mercy, of God.

Romans 9:18

So, then, to whom He wills, He shows mercy; but to whom He wills, He hardens.

Romans 9:20

20 Nay, rather, O man, who are you, the one answering back to God? Shall the thing formed say to the One forming it, Why
did You make me like this?

Romans 9:21

Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, out of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and (make) one to dishonor?
Jer. 18:6

Romans 9:22

But if God, desiring to display wrath, and to make His power known, endured in much long-suffering vessels of wrath having been fitted out for destruction,

Romans 9:23

23 and that(in order that) He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before prepared for glory,

Romans 9:24

24 whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also out of nations

Natural man has no desire to choose the true Jesus Christ or come to Jesus Christ for salvation. There are none righteous. There are none seeking after the True Biblical God. The Natural Man believes Spiritual things and the Cross of Christ are foolishness because he is void of the Spirit of Christ and consequently lacks Spiritual discernment 1 Corinthians 2:14, John 5:40, John 10:26, John 3:27, Genesis 2:17, John 6:44, John 6:65, Romans 3:10-11

God the Father sovereignly regenerates unconditionally those given to Jesus and chosen from before the foundation of the world. John 3:3-8. John 6:37-44, Ephesians 1:4, The Spirit Sovereignly blows as it wills as the wind blows where it desires. Once God regenerates your heart and spirit to come to Christ and believe the True Gospel that salvation is conditioned on Jesus Christ’s work and His imputed righteousness alone without any effort from the sinner, you can never be lost. Romans 3:24, John 5:24 You have passed from death to life

God promised to save His people Matthew 1:21 and promised the gates of hades would not prevail or be victorious against her. Matthew 16:18 God chooses His people unconditionally before doing anything good or bad Romans 9:11 from before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:4 God sovereignly regenerates His people. John 3:3-8 God works the willing and the doing inside of them according to His will and purpose. Philippians 2:13 He promises to complete that work in them. Philippians 1:6 He promises that nothing can separate them from the love of God Romans 8:35 and that no one can lay a charge against His elect because it is God who justifies Romans 8:33 through the work and perfect substitutionary imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:10-27 Romans 4:3-8 These promised people are THE CHILDREN OF PROMISE that are reckoned for a SEED ( The Spiritual Seed of Christ

Acts 17:30

Indeed, therefore, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now strictly commands all men everywhere to repent (change your mind and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Mark 16:15-16

And He said to them, Going into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.

16 The one believing and being baptized will be saved; but the one not believing will be condemned.

  1. Can you explain further who/what is considered seed? Are only descendants of Abraham considered savable seed? Or are all those who believe in the gospel seed of Abraham?

    1. Yes, all that believe the Gospel are the seed of Abraham. God told Abraham in your seed all the nations of the earth will be blessed that Seed was Christ and out of Christ the children of promise come… the ones that have been regenerated by God with a new spirit and heart unto the belief of the Gospel that salvation comes conditioned only on the shed blood of Christ and His imputed perfect righteousness to His people, the children of promise…. They believe the Gospel which is a gift of God
