The Will Of My Father

In Matthew 7 and John 6, there is a parallel between the meaning of The will of My Father in Heaven

In Luke 18:19 we find that only God is good; therefore, only the Holy Spirit is good because God is Spirit John 4:24

Luke 18:19 But Jesus said to him, Why do you say Me to be good? No one is good, except One: God.

Jesus was alluding to if you call me good you should recognize who I AM; ( please see blog post on Jehovah, The I AM, Jesus ) but Matthew 11:27 Matthew 16:17 John 6:37 tells us that the identity of Jesus is revealed by The Father to the ones given to Jesus by The Father. Remember, the scriptures make it self evident who He is; but why doesn’t everyone know; The True Jesus?, John 1:1-3,14,18 The Word was with God and was God became flesh; Fully God and Fully Man. So, Jesus Christ was perfectly good in thought, word and deed; since He was The Word was God became flesh. Jesus was given by The Father the Spirit without limit John 3:34

In Matthew 7:18 below we find that only things generated from the Holy Spirit are good and can produce only good fruit coming from a good tree; since only a good tree, the Holy Spirit, can produce good fruit.

Matthew 7:18

A good tree cannot produce evil fruits, nor a corrupt tree produce good fruits.

Comment– If only God is good and the Holy Spirit is good, then, only those that have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them can do anything good and pleasing to God. Scripture is clear only those that believe the Truth of the Gospel have the Holy Spirit and are the children of God Mark 16:16 Romans 8:9 John 3:3-8 1 Corinthians 2:14 John 5:24 John 1:12-13 Hebrews 11:6

The Just shall live by Faith which is a gift of the Holy Spirit and without this gift, it is impossible to please God because none are righteous, nor doing good and none seek after The True God Romans 1:17 Hebrews 11:6 Ephesians 2:8-10 Romans 3:10-12 Romans 8:8 Psalms 14:1-3

The just shall live by Faith; Faith in what? What will you believe when the Holy Spirit brings the Spirit and consequently; Faith; when God shines into the heart the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ?

First and Foremost, The thing that pleases God is Faith in the Gospel; which is a gift from God to whom He chooses to show mercy through generation of a new spirit and new heart from above as a gift by grace; totally unmerited. 1 Corinthians 2:14 Romans 9:15 Ezekiel 36:26 Hebrews 11:6 Mark 16:16 Ephesians 2:8-10 2 Corinthians 4:6 Galatians 6:15 Romans 1:16-17 John3:3-8

Once regenerate, belief in the Gospel of Christ is the fruit showing you have passed out of death to life. Those that are regenerate believe the Gospel and Jesus will not lose any of them the Father gives to Him but will raise them up in the last day. John 3:3-8 Romans 9:15 Romans 9:16 Romans 9:18 Mark 16:16 John 6:37-44 John 5:24

Matthew 7:21 Jesus said :

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven

Then, Jesus gives the answer in verse 7:22-27 on why calling Him Lord doesn’t always mean He knows you and what doing the will of My Father in Heaven means in John 6

Matthew 7:22-27

Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?

23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; “depart from Me, the ones working lawlessness!” Psa. 6:8

How is it these people were able to call Him Lord; but yet, He said, He never knew them? After all, They called Him Lord. Was their idea of what Lord meant different from the True Lord.

Didn’t their “free will” of choosing the Lord and doing good works carry them into salvation. They even reminded Him of their good works and He still maintained He never knew them. Doesn’t calling Him Lord mean He knew them. If they called Him Lord, doesn’t that mean to them that He is Lord of all. Can you really call The True God, Lord, if He isn’t Lord of All?

No, you cannot because if your god is not Lord of All, you have created an idol and you are still dead in your sins. You are stumbling at the Cross of Christ; the stone of stumbling by making the Cross of Christ ineffectual and dependent on Natural Man’s decision when he has no desire to come to the true God and believe the true Gospel that salvation is conditioned on Christ’s work and person alone. You have made the lie your refuge John 6:44 John 6:65 John 3:3-8 Isaiah 28:15-18

If anyone believes in “Free Will “ and believes God can’t interfere with their wills, then , they don’t believe He is Lord of all because they don’t believe He is Lord of their wills and provided the only grounds of salvation. They believe their decision to choose Him makes the difference between Heaven and Hell and salvation is not solely conditioned on the work and person of Christ alone without some effort from them.

In the above verse Matthew 7:21 Jesus said only those that do the will of My Father will enter the kingdom of Heaven .

What is the will of My Father that they obviously didn’t have ears to hear and do? In verse 7:23 He calls them ones working lawlessness. Romans 3:20

Does that mean they were seeking to establish their own righteousness and they didn’t have a perfect righteousness sufficient to dwell with God and missed knowing the Gospel which reveals the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ; so they could submit to the righteousness of God in Christ; Romans 10:1-4 …that Salvation is of the Lord as a pure gift based on Christ’s faithfulness, work and person alone; to those God chooses to have mercy because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified?

The Faithfulness of Jesus Christ accomplished Justification, Redemption, Propitiation and Reconciliation for His people. He is Just and justifier; making Him a just God and a Savior. God unmeritoriously undeservedly as a free gift to His unconditionally chosen people from before the foundation of the World imputes His Righteousness to their charge at the time He gives faith in the Gospel of God. This is the Righteousness of God.

This is the righteousness of God that the unsaved Israelites did not know and the righteousness of God they did not submit to Romans 10:1-4 because they were trying to establish their own righteousness which is a filthy menstrual cloth. These unsaved Israelites were lost and did not have the spirit of God dwelling in them. Romans 1:16-17 Romans 9:15 Romans 3:24 Romans 4:3-8 Romans 3:21-27 Romans 1:1 Ephesians 2:8-10 Ephesians 1:4

24 Therefore everyone who hears these Words from Me, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man who built his house on the rock;

25 and the rain came down, and the rivers came up, and the winds blew, and fell against that house; but it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 1 Corinthians 3:11 Matthew 16:16-18

26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and who does not do them, he shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand;

Comment

Building your house on sand is like building your salvation on your works which is a filthy menstrual cloth according to Isaiah 64:6; showing you do not know the righteousness of God.

27 and the rain came down, and the rivers came up, and the winds blew and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

What words was Jesus speaking about that made the difference between building their house on a Rock instead of sand? What is that Rock; the words they should hear and do that shows they have built their house on a Rock? In Matthew 16:16-18, we are told the Rock is The Christ, The Son of The Living God. Inherently, in His person is the gift of salvation to His people based on His work and person alone.

In verse 23, He tells them “depart from Me the ones working lawlessness”

Since Jesus called them ones working lawlessness, they must have been seeking to establish their own righteousness to gain favor and salvation with God.

They must not have been regenerated with a new spirit from above unto belief of The Gospel.

God promises to save His people Matthew 1:21 conditioned solely on the Atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness. Salvation is of the Lord beginning with regeneration all the way to final glorification based on the work of Christ alone without any contribution or effort from the ones being saved. Jonah 2:9 John 3:3-8 Romans 8:28-30 John 6:37-44 Matthew 1:21 Romans 3 Romans 4 Ephesians 1:4 Ephesians 1:11 John 6:29 Romans 9:15

In other words, they didn’t know Him because He never knew them through regeneration with a new spirit and new heart which would give them understanding that Christ died for His people chosen from before the foundation of the world based solely on His paying for their sins and imputing His righteousness as their substitute without any effort from the sinner. Salvation is of the Lord from regeneration to final glorification. Salvation is God’s work alone and sovereign gift to whom He chooses to have mercy.

They didn’t know the righteousness of God and didn’t submit to the righteousness of God. They didn’t believe their self righteousness is a filthy rag. John 3:3-8 Romans 8:28-30 Matthew 16:18 John 6:29 Isaiah 43:21 Romans 10:1-4 Isaiah 64:6

These persons calling Him Lord Lord and presenting their works as justification for their salvation must have never been known by Him because they were never shown mercy and regenerated by Him unto belief that Salvation is by Grace alone without any effort from those being saved.

They thought they knew Him based on their own self righteous works which doesn’t exist in the eyes of God and reality since only the Holy Spirit is good and they were never regenerated by God’s spirit; evidenced by their belief in their free will ability to come to him on their own; in denial of John 6:65 John 6:44 John 3:3-8 1 Corinthians 2:14 Genesis 2:17 John 3:27 John 19:11 1 Corinthians 4:7

In John 6:37-44 we see that The will of the Father is for Jesus not to lose one of the persons The Father has given to Him and that Jesus will raise them up in the last day in glorified sinless bodies. Jesus always fulfills the will of His Father. This is salvation by Grace alone.

Those that are given by the Father will come to Jesus believing; knowing the righteousness of God and their unrighteousness and that their salvation has been bought and paid for by Jesus Christ through His shed blood and imputed righteousness; as a pure unconditional gift, never to be taken away. They are assured heaven based upon the work of another and guaranteed heaven based on the promise of God to save His people through Jesus Christ’s work and perfect righteousness. Matthew 1:21

This is the belief that is The Rock that your house should be built on and is the will of The Father; your house should not be built on the sand of your “free will” which shows you have not yet passed out of death to life and that you still believe your decision makes the difference between Heaven and Hell and not The work of Christ alone.

You are building your house on sand. You are still believing the lie of the serpent “You will be like God” “knowing good and evil” but God said “ Dying you shall die” and consequently, The Natural Man, a descendant of Adam, is spiritually dead and void of the Spirit; not able to recognize spiritual things such as the efficacious work of the Cross of Christ. Christ actually died for certain individuals, His people chosen from before the foundation of the world.

The cross was actually effectual in paying for the sins of His chosen people of mercy, The Children of Promise, The Elect, The Assembly of God ( See Acts 20:28 below ) which He purchased through (His) own blood. All of Spiritual Israel Jew and Gentile from every nation even tribes and peoples and languages. Matthew 1:21 Matthew 16:16-18 Revelation 5:9 Revelation 7:9 Ephesians 1:4,11 John 10:29 Isaiah 53:12

Acts 20:28 (King James 3) KJ3 literal

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God which He purchased through His own blood.

Jesus Christ did not purchase all individuals through His blood; only the Assembly of God. The Assembly Jesus promised to build over which the gates of hades shall not be victorious. The Children of Promise in Matthew 1:21 and Romans 9:8. The ones foreknown or unconditionally fore-loved from before the foundation of world. Romans 8:28-30 Romans 9:11 13

So referring back to Matthew 7:21

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.

God could not fulfill His promise to save His people if natural man had “free will” and was truly free from God. He would not be Lord of all. That is why calling Him Lord doesn’t work when you don’t believe that He is Lord over your will, and you; consequently, don’t believe the Gospel is by Grace alone, an unmerited undeserved gift from God to whom He chooses to have mercy.

We now know those that do the will of My Father in Heaven are those that obey ( submit to the belief of ) the Gospel John 6:40 Romans 10:16-17 2 Thessalonians 1:8 John 3:36 Romans 6:17-18 1 Peter 4:17 2 Thessalonians 2:13 They that obey ( Believe) (submit to) are those that believe that Christ’s work and perfect imputed righteousness are the only grounds of salvation without any effort from the sinner. These are His people that have been given to Jesus for salvation by the Father; fulfilling God’s promise to save His people. Matthew 1:21

This is what is meant by “ This is the Will of My Father” It is The Will of The Father that all that is given to Christ will obey (believe ) (submit to) the Gospel of Christ through regeneration of the spirit unto belief that salvation is conditioned solely on Christ’s work and person alone without any effort from the unconditionally chosen people from before the foundation of the world given to Jesus that He promises not to lose and raise up in the last day.

The Free Will advocate believes the lie that he knows good and can recognize and come on his own to the True God when the Bible says no one is doing good and no one seeks after The True God and that salvation is unmerited. Please see blog post on “The Will of the Unregenerate”

Eve questioned the righteousness of God in the Garden of Eden because she listened to the Serpent who called God a liar and then she followed after all his lying logic and ate the fruit and in a similar way the “Free Will” advocate says God is a liar in Romans 9 and would be unrighteous if he was in control of man’s will and chose to have mercy on whom He wills and harden whom He wills. The “Free Will” advocate is also following after the serpents lying logic.

If you made the difference, you could and would boast since your father is Satan, the supreme delusional boaster. You can do absolutely nothing except it be given to you by God The Father. John 3:27

God is not interested in modifying behavior; but in changing hearts unto belief of the Truth that God promises to save His people conditioned solely on Christ’s atoning shed blood and His imputed righteousness without any effort or work from the sinner that He is showing mercy and saving. Salvation is only by His work alone.

If you believe in “Free Will” you are still unregenerate believing the lie of the serpent in the Garden of Eden and ignoring The True God’s statement in the Garden of Eden “ Dying you shall die”.

Please remember Natural Man, a descendant of Adam, is void of the spirit (Holy Spirit) and cannot recognize the True Spirit of God (Spiritual things) which is the only place you can find goodness; therefore, he cannot recognize the true and Righteously Sovereign Good God without being regenerated by the God of Grace.

God will not share his glory with any free will idol god and He will absolutely receive all the glory in salvation and idols including man will have no part. He will have mercy on whom He wills and harden whom He wills. Romans 9 This is the God of the Bible who does as He pleases and all for His glory according to His purpose and will and the benefit of His Children of Promise. Revelation 4:11 Romans 11:36 Job 23:13 Isaiah 46:10

John 17:3

And this is everlasting life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the One whom You sent.

Matthew 11:27-30

All things were given over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son ex- cept the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and to whomever the Son purposes to reveal Him

Come unto to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am a meek and lowly in heart and you will find rest to your souls

For my yoke (is) easy, and my burden is light.
